Hello,

Does anyone know approximately how much a new barrel for a GSG 1911 .22 costs?

Thanks

Frank

I looked and can not find any for sale anywhere for you, You will probably have to call ATI to get one if they even sell them separate????? I did see a 9" GSG 522 barrel for sale online for 79.99 so i dont think a 5" GSG 1911 barrel should be more then that, its just if they actually sell them or not, ATI is closed weekends so you will have to call monday, I do look forward to your response on if ATI will sell the barrels separate. And to my knowledge there are no aftermarket barrels made for them at this time.
May I inquire to why you need a replacement barrel? ATI has always had great customer service, if there is a problem with the barrel I would talk to them they will probably replace it for free.

Stripped the allen screw threads- who would think. I have many 1911s in 45 ACP; one slide stop and it's a done deal.

This GSG 1911 .22 has a slide stop, a barrel fixing pin and this allen screw on the r/h side of the pistol frame. I guess the engineer who engineered this weapon thought there were .22 atomic bullets out there.

Someone other than an lawyer would have to explain to me why the over kill on a .22 LR when a 45 ACP only has the slide stop and has had only one for over 100 years.

At the end of the day I did strip the threads: my fault, but even at that it was not like I was using an extension bar on the end of my allen key to tighten that screw down. followed the owners manual directions etc.

I'm done whining, but that's what happened.

Ohh you dont need a new barrel, many actually prefer the GSG barrel without those screws, especially if you have a aftermarket barrel cap, here is a link
http://www.cwaccessories.com/Products.html
on that page you will see the frame hole plug kit which is over sized and you need to re tap anyway, so your stripped threads shouldnt matter much i hope this helps you out :) also i believe its ZRTS i think makes a barrel cap and i think ??? a frame hole plug kit also but i only have experience with the CW products

also the stripping these threads are very common you are definitely not the first or the last that will do it hence the frame hole plug kit :)

Took your advise, and just bought the kit. Thanks. You have probably saved me somewhere between $50 & $100. The part & shipping $10.50.

Thanks. I appreciate your advise.

Regards,

Frank
Great I hope you like it and im glad to be of help, it is recommended i believe to use the aftermarket barrel cap with the frame hole kit, but i dont think it is necessary.
