Traded for a new to me Bearcat yesterday, what’s the best way to lighten the trigger pull on one of these? I see they are made a little different than the single six as far as the trigger springs. This is a 2007 model.I painted the sights to see them better.Shots are at 10 yards off hand. I thought it grouped really good.

I bought my Dad one several years ago. Bnib the cylinder wouldn’t freely rotate with any brand of 22lr. Something was out of spec. Gun store reluctantly gave a refund since we were using it towards a stainless single six. I liked the size of the Bearcat, but we never got to shoot it. Looks like yours is shooting good 👍

I have one of the New Models in stainless, you can lessen the trigger pull weight and increase the accuracy with a trigger job and changing out the hammer and trigger springs to one’s with lighter weight. The hammer spring I’m using is made by Wolff and came from Midway.

The Wollf hammer springs come in a two pack, one 18lb and one 16lb. For the last two years after the spring change I’ve had no light strikes shooting the Federal golden bullets or CCI blazers out of this Bearcat. I thought I had installed the 18lb spring but after going back and looking I installed the 16lb. I also changed out the trigger return spring for one I had in a parts drawer, see picture. I gave the gun a trigger job by polishing the internal parts (a lot of videos on YouTube if you want to watch them) but I did nothing to the engagement angles of the trigger or sear surfaces. After this it sits with a 2lb 6oz trigger pull and it’s very smooth. I just bought some CCI standard velocity, I’ll update this thread once the weather breaks and I get a chance to shoot them. Anything else let me know.

Update, My Bearcat‘s factory hammer spring was replaced about two years ago with a 16lb Wolff spring. I just went out yesterday and plinked about 60 rounds of Federal through my Bearcat with no light primer strIke’s or malfunctions of any kind.
