Front Sling Stud for Mossberg 500

I bought a youth Mossberg 500 for my son. The front sling stud is missing. Mossberg wants an entirely reason $4 for the sling stud and washer, but $11 to $40 in shipping. If I want the sling stud in time for our Thanksgiving hunting trip, I need to spend $40 in shipping.

Any recommendations? I live right outside Washington, DC, but I'll be driving the back route to Massachusetts if anyone knows a gun shop along the way or a website with faster (and reasonable shipping).

If you remove the forend, take spanner nut off (I use a butter knife), remove wood from inner action tube you'll see 4 dimples at rear of tube. You can take a rounded punch and slowly tap the dimples in tighter. Don't go to far. It really takes a lot of play out of it reducing the rattling. The action arms are noisy, because they're riveted on. I never found a fix for that. They are reliable shotguns, and I like the tang safety.

Thought I'd post on here what I done to my mossberg 835 to quieten it down as far as play in the forearm. I've posted in other forums over the years about it but it doesn't get brought back up often. You can get different size furniture sliders at your local wal mart or hardware store. I used the 5/8" by 3" or 4" approximately. Cut in half lengthwise and install along the top of the forearm on each side of the barrel. They are self adhesive and if you clean the barrel first they will stick quite well. After you put one on each side of the forearm you can put a third piece at the front of the forearm that will act as a cushion or stop as well. It's a night and day difference if you put them on the right way eliminating most of the play and silencing any excess noise. I still have the original ones on my 835 I installed 7-8 years ago.
