Not to be overlooked cleaning your 41 is demagnetizing your barrel, frame and magazines at some point in its life. This will remove small bits of iron hanging on that solvents and cleaning will not wipe or blow away. Many operations making parts for guns use magnets like on surface grinders. This may be minor and should not be required often but the affect is not zero. Bottom line there are mixed metals of various alloys & heat treatment, all that may build up magnetism.

A small piece of steel can be struck with a hammer to demagnetize it. Place the item on a hard, secure, non-metallic surface and hit it sharply a few times with a hammer.
