Just picked this up from Cabelas yesterday. It's my first 10/22, long overdue.

Congratulations! I've seen the same model rifle at Cabela's here. If I'm being honest, I'm a little ambivalent about it the French walnut stock,* but there's no denying its a really nice 10/22. Wish Ruger made a lot more of them like that and fewer camo plastic ones.

*Personal preference, but I think I prefer the standard walnut DSP.

That's a fine looking rifle. If you like the schnable forearm it's the best yet, almost identical to the Lipsey's special. :t

As a woodworker, my first thought was "that's walnut?"

then I saw that it's French Walnut. Ahh, I get it now. I like the look of the walnut I get here in MO, which is mostly black walnut. But the french stuff is certainly nothing to gripe about. Congrats on the new rifle! You'll love it.

I pick my takedown version of that up when I get back in town. Pretty stoked. I bought my girl that version a few years back when it was a talo run. Love the french walnut.

This model was on sale at the Cabelas in Grand Rapids this morning for $339, a sixty dollar discount off the normal price of $399. Seemed like a good price, so I bought one! They had three left in stock when I got mine.
