Don't believe they were that high, more like a couple of hundred over a regular 527 which was in the $600 range if I recall, I have quite a few 527's including this one I paid $725 for maybe six years ago...

This one is .223
That may have been the only caliber in the ebony edition. Not sure though.

 

Now that is nice . . . It reminds me of the Steyr Zepher II style - (barrel finish and stock style ).. but with very nice Turkish walnut. That would be hard to pass on, no matter how many CZs were in the corral.

I had a chance to buy one, but passed with the 1-12 twist. At the time , CZ was switching over to the 1-9 for the 223.

 

I read a past thread somewhere that was stating these barrels as 1-9. I really have no idea one way or the other.

 

I've always liked the spiral hammered barrels. CZ only offered a few models with these barrels. Only other one I can think of offhand is the Prestige model, your stocks pretty dandy too.

I believe when CZ made the switch to 1:9 it is stamped on the barrel - at least the ones I've looked at and my carbine is as well. I could be wrong on that though.

rjferber I dug it out of the safe and sure enough it had the stamp you referred to.

 

My wife saw my face when I saw your rifle and thought I was looking at porn.

 

That was probably the same look I had when the fellow at the show came walking by with it. 😆

 

I know what you mean, you just want to caress the twist lines on the barrel and feel the warmth of a beautiful wood stock.

 

The only 527 I have left is the MTR. If I saw that locally I would have grabbed it. One of the nicest looking 527's I've seen. Really love the more vertical grip on it. I have a 550 FS that has a similar grip.

I knew there was no way I could ever get one of them, so I did my best to make my own. Here is the picture that was posted, and I saved it to my screen saver collection. IIRC they said it was a 308 Winchester.


So, I looked around to see if anybody else had one and found my good friend Wonderdog1 had something like that. He bought a Royal and put it in a Lux stock;


it did not take too many mornings of drinking coffee before the wife and kids woke up for me to pull the trigger:

Yes, if I saw one like that walking my direction, I too would bought it in a heartbeat.

Yeah , that stock is for sure not the most attractive thing.

 

Great stock from the pistol grip forward.

 

Wow, That is smoothing special. Never have I seen a 527 that looked so special. bit of drooling going on here. Have me wondering If I could find a aftermarket stock half as nice as that stick of lumber.

 

Not sure if there are any distributors out there that might have some of these style stocks or not. I would think when CZ discontinued the 527 that they would have sold their overstock parts if they had any.
