I have a new to me 457 American, I found an excellent Simmons scope and used the rings that came with the rifle - I too noticed when looking from the front, the scope center does not seem to be over the center of the bore. Not sure what the rings are, they seem to be good steel ones, fit well. Maybe I am just much too picky and need to just shoot it and see where my hits go at 50 yds once sighted at 25?
I've added a decent scope. I love Leupold scopes but I tried their 11mm CZ rings and they are TRASH. They don't fit at all and when "installed" they cant off to the side so the scope isn't over the bore. These Warne rings are far superior to the Leupold ones! I was very surprised. I'm usually a Leupold fan.
Edit: "Sophia" edited my post to remove the photo I was trying to share for some reason. Re-editing it to put it back....Maybe she thought the quoted original image was the same as the new one?
