Hi all, new to this forum and this is my first post. I’m from Ohio and have recently started my obsession with rimfires. Recently bought a cz-457 at-one and I’ve found it like Norma tac 22.
I know the same series of gun dude to differences in manufacturing can lead to a gun liking different ammo but thought I’d see what works best for you. Also the results of what you’re shooting! Thanks!

Setup is CZ 457 AT - One. Area 419 15MOA rail. Vortex venom 5x25x56 with a area 419 bolt knob

In my experience as well most CZ’s prefer Lapua and SK Ammo.
I've been shooting a lot of SK in my 457. But I was thinking about getting some Eley Rifle Match to try. Am I correct in thinking the Eley rim is thinner than SK thus affecting headspace and would that be a reason why our CZ's shoot SK and Lapua better?

Bowtie747,
Welcome from another Buckeye. My CZs do well with TAC22 but seem to prefer SK a bit more. In my limited experience, the lots of SK Std+ I have shoot a little better than the one lot of SK Rifle Match that I have. It's hard to beat the price and availability of TAC22 though.

I haven't tried Lapua. I'm not a good enough shooter. If there's a miss, it's almost certainly me and not the ammo...so far anyhow.

If it likes that Tac-22, feed it that until/unless something arises that makes you want to switch, especially for practice. An affordable round for practice is a very nice thing.
Also, as much as I like Lapua/SK rimfire ammo, I wouldn't rule out Ruag products, of which Tac-22 is one. When I was running a factory barrel on my Varmint 457, it seemed to think RWS Rifle Match, also by Ruag, was quite nice. I shot two cases of the stuff we acquired for $5 per box during that one amazing sale. Not the finest match ammo I've ever seen, but hardly shabby. I know two guys stilling running it their Anschutz 1710s. They dig it.
That said., test on. You might find other things that shoot well from your rifle. And, as a lot of guys here will tell you, the quality of a given lot can have quite a bit to do with performance.
Good to hear your new rig is running well!
Re what I'm using, it's Eley Tenex for paper-target matches and Eley Match for steel-target matches. But it's not really comparable, 'cause my '57 has a Lilja barrel on it these days.

I’m so tempted to put a lilja on mine. I wonder if fluting and what not can affect how it shoots? I really like the spiral fluting done by area 419

I don't shoot true benchrest -- I shoot a rogue, 4-distance game -- and BowChamp would likely give me a whuppin' at benchrest, but that's the kind of results I've seen with my Lilja, too.
My scores rose toward the end of this past season and I finally got into in a portion of the match results that I just hadn't been able to previously reach. I attribute the improvement largely to three things:
1.The Lilja .90 straight taper barrel.
2. Quality ammo (Tenex and Match)
3. A scope that let's me really see what I'm doing, in my case a Sightron SV 10-50x60.
It ain't been cheap, but it has been fun.

The conclusion I've reached is this.
Shooting gongs that aren't tiny, any standard velocity ammo works if your rifle approves of the brand and lot#. I could list them, but my results may differ in this sector from yours.

For Simi serious shooting.
Long range, gongs of any size, and general paperwork.
SK standard plus, and Sk rifke match are great. Along with any ammo your rifle chooses over others. Could be Eley too.

Ok, for bug hole groups, and really trying to do my best at any range.
My 457 Varmint prefers Lapua Center-x.

So spend your money as you wish. If you shoot through a few thousand rounds trying to shoot your best most of the time. Lapua Center-x will actually save money because you will reach that goal quickly.
If you are erring on the side of light hearted plinking and decent groups with a few gongs singing back at you. Then tac-22 and cci CV will get-r-dun.

In the end the best ammo to use and spend your hard earned cash on is the product that makes you smile the most. You can't put a price on that.
For me it's Center x, but I cant find any!!!

Basically I am parroting most posts before me one way or another.
Thats consistently for you.

I have four CZ 457's and all shoot Lapua CX, Midas, RWS R50, R100 and Ely Tenex great. I had a half of a brick of Fiocchi 320 that shot outstanding in my VPT. I wish would have bought more of it.
I practice/train a lot with CCI SV and Norma Tac.
I have never tested SK Ammo in any of my CZ's so don't know.
