Just thought I would share my CZ 457 American after conversion to HM2 and stock refinish. Not a spectacular stock like others I see, but wanted something different than the mud finish. And since the barrel channel was bare wood, why not just strip the stock and refinish it.
Only pic I have of the factory finish.

recently stripped my 457 MTR stock, first I wiped it down with acetone & pieces of a white t shirt till I got no more color. Then I slathered the Citrisip on it & wrapped it in aluminum foil for about 16 hours. After that I scrubbed it off in the sink with warm running water & a stiff plastic bristle brush. I even did this to all the stippling on the stock. After it dried for 24 hours I sanded it, first with 220 then 320 then 400 & finally 600 grit sandpaper (Ididn't sand the stippling). I twas as clean as the one in the OP's pic. I've started applying BLO, have couple more coats to go

Agree with the Acetone comment. Citristrip works fine by itself. I apply Citristrip, then wrap in plastic shopping bags overnight. May have to repeat once or twice, but the finish will come off. Easy warm water cleanup. Citristrip was developed so you wouldn't have to use such dangerouse stuff as Acetone. I think MEK is even worse. Not only are both toxic, but you can blow your house up too.

If the 457 looked like your after finish, I would have one already. Or at least I would be seriouly looking for a model I could justify since they dont offer a wood stock carbine for hunting. Mud is the last straw.

Well done, on the refinish and barrel. Very nice.
