Anyone bought a CZ 457 American 22lr with Maple wood stock and 20" barrel? How is the accuracy compare to the regular CZ 457 American with 24" barrel? I just ordered one hoping to strike some decent maple wood stock but wondering about accuracy. Provide any feedback if you own one of these.

I understand the stock of a rifle doesn't mean anything with accuracy, I just love nice looking wood rifles. I use to own a CZ 457 American with the 24" barrel and it shot great but sold it. Now just wondering about these shorter threaded 20" barrel CZ is putting on this rifle to see if they are comparable to the longer barrel in terms of accuracy. I just placed an order yesterday and so it has not ship out yet until maybe next week but looking forward to see it. I bought a CZ 452 American Grand Finale unseen long ago and was surprise it had some very nice tiger stripe and looks great. Hoping to get lucky with wood lottery again but will see.

I took my Maple Stocked 457 to the range for the first time last week. I shot a bunch of groups under .5 inch at 50 yards. I only used one ammo and I'm not a great shot (I haven't shot a rifle in over 8 years). I bet with more scope, more practice, and different ammo it would do sub MOA all day at 50 yards.

The mind set of a wood stock not having anything to do with accuracy is just not true.. a good stock is pretty important.. a wood stock can swell and expand with heat and humidity.. and can shrink and contract in the cold.. a tight straight grained stock is a good thing.. it well do less of all of that than a course grained or twisted grain stock will do..

Thanks for sharing your pictures Plinkertons, I will be happy if mine look as decent as your Maple rifle. It seems like these CZ 457 Maple is listed in CZ USA 2024 catalog and so they must be starting to build these as part of their standard offering but only in right hand rifle, no lefty. I don't mind the checkering on this rifle as they are similar or the same as their standard CZ 457 American with the 24" barrel. As long as the wood stock looks nice and the barrel shoots very accurate I will be happy. If you search there are decent pricing right now for these Maple stock 457 models. I only pay about mid $800's for mine shipped.

Yep, I agreed for paying this much and AAAA stock, it should be a guarantee but when you are buying sight unseen any of those pictures are not the actual rifle you are getting but just an example to entice people to buy from that shop, nothing more. When you are buying unseen and online with no real picture, it's just a luck of the draw what inventory gets sent to you. As long as it's as nice as some of the Browning T-bolt maple stocks I have seen, I will be happy but not a guaranteed in today's market unless the seller has time to take every rifle out of the box just to take pictures for the ad.

I just bought a Kimber that was in mint condition and the bolt was broken during shipment. Getting a new bolt is near impossible and that Kimber is now useless. Point being that buying a 457 with a maple stock is a far safer proposition than a rifle that is out of production with no parts availability.

I just ordered an ANSCHÜTZ 1761 18 inch threaded heavy barrel WMR compared to the 21" barrel model, (I blame you guys for putting these thoughts in my head 😉 ) because I read the 18 inch barrel is the optimum for the magnum. I have read about .22lr that longer barrels can slow the bullet down, but I am not a ballistics expert. Like with my new order, you can always switch barrels if you don't like it. That is one of the selling point of these models.

I just got deliver my CZ 457 American 22LR in Maple and this blondie is pretty plain Jane nothing to be too excited about with CZ AAAA Maple wood. I would not even consider this maple wood AAAA quality, probably just A rated at best. No real tiger stripe or figures, just hoping it's accurate once I have the chance to test it at the range.

Just for anyone planning to get these CZ 457 American Maple 22lr that it's actually a 24.8" barrel and not 20" barrel on this rifle as I had expected and so all the specs and pictures on seller's website and even CZ 2024 catalog of this model is not 100% accurate. Some sell website shows the wrong picture but correct 24" barrel and so now that I own one, I can tell you guys that it's a long barrel just like the regular walnut CZ 457 American but instead threaded only. I was hoping to get a 20" length for hunting squirrels but I guess that didn't happen. Just thought it was long and measure it and ofcourse it was 24.8" barrel not 20" which is kinda disappointing but I guess maybe CZ figure out the longer barrel shoots better, not sure. Just information for those that are debating on this Maple model, you can save a lot of money going with the regular CZ 457 American model as you are not getting anything different besides the plain Jane Maple stock upcharge and threaded barrel that's the same long length.

Yes, I was kinda disappointed when I saw the long barrel on this plain Jane Maple wood stock. Was hoping for better looking Maple but no figures or anything too embarrass to even post the pictures. I also tried to stain it in a oak wood stain but it didn't stick to the maple stock and so had to clean it up again but didn't turn out well after the cleaning either. Not a good buy from CZ due to the bad build as their 2025 CZ catalog list this part number as with a 20" barrel also, just not sure what CZ was thinking building these with the longer 24" barrel.

Yes, another guy ping me on PM and suggested to call CZ as well. Maybe I might call CZ to see if anyone answers and if they can make it right by sending me a free 20" barrel to replace this 24" barrel. This is false catalog and advertising for listing 20" barrel and I got a 24" barrel instead.
