CZ 452 American Just Arrived

I just purchased a CZ452 American and I'm in the process of a thorough disassembly and cleaning. What I'm most impressed with is the quality and finish of the walnut stock and the fine polish on the barrel and receiver. What I'm least impressed with is the quality of the trigger. The rifle handles beautifully and is perfectly balanced, at least for this American. Next job is to either replace or tune the trigger and any advice along those lines would be greatly appreciated.
Attached are a few pictures.
Oh and a special thanks to SageRat22 for your guidance on pricing.

Edit to add: your American is beautiful!!

A lighter spring will make a difference. There are kits (e.g. YoDave) that are supposed to help reduce trigger creep but I've not used one personally. DIP also has an adjustable sear that some have reported positive experience with.

My first American (22lr) came with a wonderful trigger. The gentleman I got it from is a member here who I later learned is a well known and respected gunsmith. It breaks at a very crisp 12 ounces. I remember testing it when I picked it up and commented about how nice it felt. Mr. Davis just smiled and said he knew how to tweak them. I don't know what kind of magic he did to it. (I didn't know anything about him at the time other than he was a nice gentleman.)

My 17HM2 also came with a trigger that someone must have tweaked. It breaks crisply around a pound.

My 22WMR and 17HMR Americans seemed to have stock trigger springs in place when I got them. I replaced them with lighter springs from DIP. They might not be as crispy as the other two, but they are still pretty nice triggers without any other modifications.

I figured I needed to act quickly before you spied this one. You have single handedly cornered the market for high quality classic rimfires.

Nice 452 American! Mine's one of my favorite rifle. Plenty you can do with the trigger. I don't have time to look for it now but look in the stickies for The Poor Man's trigger job. I bought a DIP adjustable sear for mine. Haven't installed it yet but that's supposed to be a great way to go too

You can really see the difference in the finish of the wood and the polish of the steel from the 452 to the 457. I don't think it's my imagination but the walnut on the 452 seems more dense. Undoubtedly just a better grade of walnut on the older model. I mounted a scope today and will see how it shoots in the next few days. Hopefully will shoot as good as it feels.
Probably will install a new Timney. Lot's of guys have mentioned a spring change but my trigger has a ton of creep that I don't think a spring change alone will cure.

I have a 452 Style.
I recently installed another Yodave shim & spring kit. It's the second one I've done. Mine is adjusted to 2 Lbs. with no take up, so there is NO CREEP. Just a clean break. It goes bang when you move the trigger. Everyone that fired the gun was impressed.
"This kit removes the creep and lightens the trigger pull weight by the use of shims and new springs. Kit includes 4 shims and 4 new springs plus a variety of roll pins to replace the original front trigger pin. Trigger pull weight can be adjusted from approx. 1 to 3.5 pounds."

You've invested in a beautiful rifle from a well known rifle maker with a well deserved reputation. I suggest you invest in a trigger that will make you happy and confident when using the rifle. Take the rifle and trigger to a competent gunsmith in your area and get the job done right the first time. My 2¢ and good luck.

Is yours a B or C prefix? I have a couple of them with "16" marked on the barrel. My "A" prefixes all have "07" marks. B's and C's just say 2E but no ZKM. No matter when they were made, the 452's are great rifles and "just have that look about them". As I remember my 2 Grand Finales are marked "17" on the barrel and serial numbered below 0175. I do not own any of the 457's. Looks like they put the receiver in hot water and shrunk it.
