After everyone here raving about how cool thos e20 dollar air rifles are, i got one myself.
It is cool, and I am still in the testing process.

BTW: anyone else's have just a thin film of red grease on it that took like FOREVER to get out of the bore?

I put Armor All on the plastic gaskets that I could see. Any other tips?

Thanks for pointing me towards this thing! Y'all are great.

Those things are cool. :t

I bought one and when I got home, shot once, turned around and bought another one. :D

Anyway, I hated the trigger on them, naturaly, so I took one apart to see what was what. I took a Dremal to the sear, I call it a sear, it's looks like the sear that is attached to the spring. It lightened up nicely and have now killed over a hundred snappers with them.

You could take too much off and ruin the gun so go slow. Yeah, I know a guy that did that. :p

Yup, at $20 cash I couldn't resist the dang thing. Heavy as hell, but it really has a lot of power. Gotta be about 9 pounds. Its the first air rifle I've ever shot that smokes and has recoil. Apparently it's burning off the lube in the barrel. It is a single pump type with manual single shot loading. Anyway, this thing will put a flat nosed pellet 1/2" into a phone book at 25 feet. I also got a tin of the Chinese pellets from Cummins, but they are NOT accurate. The US made pellets are much better. Haven't tried the accuracy deal yet, but I'll get bored this winter and start messing with it. Lessee, trigger job, new (lighter) stock, better sights . . . . maybe a red dot.

BTW, the grooved receiver is made for the narrow Weaver type rings. A Dremel with a cutoff disk will rectify that.

It has the potential to be a decent squirrel and bunny buster.:D

These are popular guns for airgunners to do customizations on, for two reasons. One is that they are inexpensive, and the other is that they are generally built very solid, out of wood and steel--there is very little plastic used for anything, so they are mechanically simpler than most US-made/sold injection-molded plastic airguns and modifying them is fairly straightforward.

I've had one for a few years.I took off the sights and permanently mounted a cheap scope to it.My barrel was so far off i had to put the barrel in a vise and bend it to get it to shoot in,once i did it,it shoots better than my benjamin/sheridan pellet rifle.Crappy finish and trigger, but my son loves it.

I just bought one at Cummins Tool in St. Charles MO today for twenty bucks! OK it isn't nearly as nice as my RWS, but it shoots. Only got to shoot about twenty pellets through it before it got dark though. The stock looks like they dipped it in varnish and let it run off and the metal looks like it was finished with 100 grit sand paper before it was blued, but I like it!

I have had mine for about 3 years. I knew it was pretty accurate but felt the sights were holding it back some. I got some rings and a scope from some generous members in the pay it forward thread in the RFC clubhouse. Thanks Texas22 and Pinball. I got the scope dialed in to 10 yards and put 3 shots touching dead center. This was with plain jane pellets. I was then shooting at about 25 or 30 yards and getting about a 1" group. I was amazed. The scope is a BSA classic 4X. We shall see how it holds up. So far so good. You cant expect a whole lot for $20 but I think anybody who buys one of these will be surprised at how good they are. I am going to have to work on this trigger. It makes a stock 10/22 trigger seem great. And yes the smoke that comes out the barrel is cool :Blasting_

I bought a cummins last summer...put an OLD sears 2.5x scope w/ cheap simmons rings...I'ms sure it's taken at least 100 starlings off the farm I love it for anything under ~35 yards. Heavy and loud, though.

I too have modified my trigger (grind down/polish trigger components, staked the loose trigger pins-kept falling out). Can't be beat for the money.

Heres a recent pic, scope removed.

That one looks way better than mine. The finish on mine looks like it was dipped and let drip dry. It is real wood though and I bet that one above has been redone.
Mine looked the same way. I sanded it down and painted it a flat OD green.

Is that the stock that comes with the rifle? It looks much better on your rifle than in the pic on the website. I hope mines looks that nice.

It is the stock that comes on the rifle, however...it has been refinished. It originally had an orange shellac type coating--it looked like it was dipped.

I sanded the stock down with some 150, then 220, and re-contoured the cheek rest a little to give it some more definition. Then I gave it a few quick coats of boiled linseed oil, and coated a few times with Spar Varnish (semi-gloss).

Is it worth $20? Yes
Is it worth $20 and another $10 for a refinish? Yes, it looks and feels MUCH better now...I'm not embarrassed by it.

From what I've heard, some are shooters and some are not. I've run across a few with bent barrels. I loaned mine to a friend to take care of a barn pigeon problem. He ended up taking 11--ranging from 10 to 40 yards when it had a 2.5x scope on it.
