Every new CZ rifle comes with a new mag well too!
So simply just buy your next CZ on the want list, and swap out the mag well. Then when your replacement part is available you can pop it on the new rig.

Your wife will completely understand that the RFC enablers have recommended another CZ for you... 😉

 

Here's an idea that is sure to backfire. Buy your wife a new CZ. It will be hers. You set it up for her (your) success. Let her use it when she will and you be the caretaker for the other 99.9% of the time. So you're buying her a gift.

Not sure how to explain taking the magwell out of her new rifle though...

I did look at the Pete's Pillars and while they show a picture of the magazine housing, they are actually just selling the pins and screws that go to them. Unfortunately, not the housing.

I searched for "cz magazine housing" and scrolled down a bit until I found the one I needed. (Listed for CZ 455 but that is the same as the CZ 457)

What I am going to do is get myself put on the notification when in stock list at whoever sells metal mag wells...and just wait. Seemed to work well when I wanted a firing pin (striker?) assembly for my 455.

 

I got lucky, got 2 steel magazine wells for my 452 UL and wife 452 Scout when Denny was still around. That man was a God send.

 

I have a couple spare original Model 2 / 452 .22LR steel mag wells, but for the life of me can't find even one aluminium 457 one.

Anyone got word if/when DIP will resume production?

I sent them an email, yesterday, but no response yet.
I have since found out that it wouldn't be approved for Factory ARA Class, as it is not OEM, so I guess I am happy to find another CZ original plastic one.
(I will have a spare when CZ gets them in stock and sends me the warrantee replacement.)

Mine just broke at a match today☹ I have purchased quite a few things from DIP directly for both my 457 and 452. It is a tough pill to swallow when Pete’s is just price gouging the heck out of stuff. He has a mag well in stock just gotta pay $70 for it. I don’t mind paying a little extra for something but double the price I don’t know.

 

I`m confused. What am i missing here. How (or, why) are these mag wells breaking. I`ve never broke one on any of my CZ`s.

Hi Rob - I replaced the magwell on one of my 455's with a DIP aluminum one a couple of years ago. I still have the original CZ plastic one. I'll bring it to the range on Wednesday. Sorry I'm late in seeing this post. Mark Myrdahl

Unlimited with my Factory Class 457 Varmint MTR. My Unlimited 455 is still a work in progress.

 

Mine broke on a 455 from a metal extended release and being abused in a chassis. I did the all metal DIP setup and it is very smooth now!
