Yes Anschutz would've been great but after selling the Jaguar CZ457 barrel stock and bottom parts the action cost me about $250

We built this for a customer, installing a Shilen 4R barrel on this action. Shot quite well if I remember correctly.

 

My Penrod Anschutz 54. Shoots great. 1977 Match 54 action, Muller 8MI, Parmoor stock.

 

These guys throwing around Penrod 54’s like they are common 10/22’s. Nice setups gentlemen!

Here is a Factory 1416 HB in a stock I made with a tuner. Only shot one match with it like this.

 

Here it is in its factory configuration. I won the match with it. IR 50/50 factory class.
it’s a great shooter.

Steve. That rifle came within 1 X of tying the IR50/50 indoor record. Spent a year trying to get a Trident to shoot as good as the F27A. It never did. Traded Trident, kept the Fortner.

Had no idea how rare that rifle was when I bought it.

Are these custom built rifles, or assembled components? There is a huge price difference.
How does one go about a benchrest rimfire build?
I had a 6br built by kelbly's and it was not cheap by any means.
I also have rifles ive assembled, starting with a barreled action all trued up and ready to go.
Order parts and let them stack, send them out for custom work then assembl and pillar bed rifle stock.

Please fill me in with what you guys are doing.
Perhaps your all retired machinist by trade cutting barrels on your own equipment in a private shop..

The rifles I'm posting are from the Custom Shop days at Anschutz. It was great fun building and working with our customers, and it's fantastic to see them posted with their new owners. Yes, they were expensive, but I felt that our customer base was pleased and many were repeat customers. Just a fun thread looking back down memory lane.
