Has anyone tried this CCI polymer coated ammo? Comments/suggestions/experience regarding using it for informal target shooting?

You might try doing a search. Many shooters, including me, consider these just about worthless for target shooting, esp. the red, white, and blue Patriot which I gave away. Bought a case of the Christmas red/green and after a few outings, Calamity refused to shoot them being so inaccurate. Finally gave them away too. Didn't see anything "cleaner" with any of them, except possibly with a little less carbon in the barrel. I never get lead in any of my barrels. Chamber gets as dirty as with any CCI round. I paid close attention to any polymer in the barrel, but found none. Maybe the "clean" uses a different powder/primer otherwise it's just another sales gimmick.

I have been using the CCI Clean HV in my Ruger Single Six Bisley for awhile. They really are clean and they let me shoot more through that gun before it needs a cleaning. The chambers are real tight and dirty ammo tends to make fully seating cartridges a chore after awhile. The worst offender are the Remington Thunderturds! I think of them as demonrats.

If I can't shoot plated through my suppressor, these are my second choice. Also, keep in mind there are two versions of these (not including the holiday versions). There's a subsonic and a high velocity version. One is red and the other is blue. The subsonic will probably be more accurate. They (subsonic) cycled my hand guns with no problem and I don't remember them not cycling my 10/22, but every gun is a little different. The high velocity stuff shot with zero problems as well.

I'm saving a brick of Clean for this year's State Championship. It runs 100% in my black Mamba and Mark IV 22/45 Lite so I'll be using it in both guns in case I need a backup

I've now only shot 1000 round but really like it. I can go a lot many rounds without cleaning and even after the 1000 rounds I did not have to clean my compensator, a chore I hate doing but need to after 500 rounds of any other ammo.

Hopefully I'll be able to find more of this stuff.

I like it. I’ve used the high velocity versions of the Christmas, Patriot and Pink poly coated ammo.
I’m getting excellent accuracy in some of my guns. My Anschutz sporters love it. In other rifles or pistols, accuracy can be mediocre.

The bottom line is, you will either love it or hate it. You’ll have to try some to see if it will work for you.

CCI Clean .22lr

I've recently picked up 2 (100 rnd) boxes (because they had some!) and shot about half. I'm not concerned about clean, but the groups I have been getting are not as good at 50 yds. as the CCI SV in my Mossberg 46M(b) rifle. Not a ton of rounds, but I've averaged about .8" with the SV vs. 1.0" with the clean.
My gun seems to like the CCI SV pretty well, but Wolf MT, SK TM (red box), and Norma Tac-22 do better.
Your results may vary...

I was intrigued by the possibility to shoot these suppressed and make cleaning the silencer easier so I bought 100 rounds for testing. They didn't meet my accuracy requirements, but then neither do standard velocity CCI. Besides that, 100 rounds is too few to determine in there's an advantage with silencer cleanliness. I'd like to see a target round poly coated, such as some of the premium offerings from Elay or Lapua. But maybe it's simply a case of inadequate lubrication?

A new variant of the CCI brand for me .... performance-wise and in appearance, it seems to be about like a Mini-Mag Target, but with a smooth polymer coating in lieu of the more common Copper sheath.

I haven't shot it enough yet to give a fair report on general accuracy .... but hope to cure that flaw in the coming weeks in several different pistols.

On another note ..... where did I find it in these days of general ammo scarcity ? Just happened to walk into Wally World late one afternoon and saw a whole shelf packed with the stuff .... I hadnt seen a rimfire round on the shelves there for almost a year. bought another batch the next day and shelves were still pretty full .... they allowed me to buy 3 200-round cartons bulk pack.

Take this with a grain of salt because all rifles shoot different with different brands/types of ammo. My range buddy shot some last week out of his old dead nuts accurate Remington b/a and the groups were nothing to write home about when compared to the other ammo he was shooting.
