Just got a Calico from a fella on another board at a very good price..Very nice condition and was made Aug 28th 1986 according to a lady at Calico..Very low serial number..She had to research the physical paper archives and call me back with that data..As She said being that early it had to be researched that way..Very nice of Her to do that..

I just got it delivered today but did run 75 rounds through it with CCI Mini Mags, and CCI Blazer..Ran flawless and was very fun..

I ordered a clear/smoke magazine cover from them..That way you can see the rounds left in the rotary mag..Not just through the hokey little windows that do not give a very accurate count..

Will post another pic when that arrives.

I always kinda wanted one of these..But they were always overpriced..This one was not.. Thanks and if you own one..Post some pics and what you think of yours..I like it.:D

Thanks AZ that will keep me busy awhile:)

I like how some complain it is not a target Rifle or real accurate? LOL..Was never meant to be I am sure..It is more in the style of a survival backpack take down plinking Rifle.. To me it was bought for just what it is..A fun plinker and somewhat scarcer one not alot of people have....I have plenty of more accurate and somewhat boring 22 Rifles..This just adds more spice to the collection..

Some complain it is takes a long time to load..I actually think it goes pretty fast..After all you are not loading just a 10 round mag here..It is going to take longer than a ten rounder does to stuff in 100 rounds:D

welcome,

from what i understand they are still made. Not sure what versions..

but they made a carbine version with wood/walnut furniture and i thought they were much nicer in appearance for those wood lottery seekers.

and they made a 50 round mag too that fit the pistol.

just a note from my research along time ago, the clutch would give/wear eventually and you could not provide enough winding force to feed, so if you plan or want to keep the toy, you may want to look for some "rebuild" kits out there. I think the last time i was looking at them they were 50 bucks?

tehy also made a 9mm version too. And the 9 pistol full auto was in the "tango & cash" move along with the cool urban RV.

good luck

Calico offers every replacement part needed for them and accessories too..Parts are not a problem at all..

I do not think the clutches just gave out so much..I think it was more a cause of how some people think:D If 20 cranks is good, well 40 must be much better,LOL

Mine was made early on in Bakersfield, CA when they were still there..Mine still has the patent pending dates on the receiver..Later they added dates to that as I understand it..

Though this will not go out often..Ammo is not a problem for me..I can blast away at will..

This is an old post, but..

I've been working on one of these.. the mag doesn't quite feed the bullets into the chamber- the tip gets stuffed into the flat part of the barrel above the chamber.

Could you snap a pic of how the bullet sits when sticking out of the magazine and ready to feed? I'm trying to figure out if it's just a case of a bad mag and something I can adjust somehow. Unfortunately we only have one mag on hand. It seems like the tip of the bullet needs to drop down another 1/8" to feed right. Tried several ammo brands with the same results.

Thanks!

I had a feed problem also. Then I noticed that the barrel was too far into the frame area and was not flush with the frame. If I backed off the barrel nut just a little to make the barrel flush, it would feed any .22lr. I had 1/16 of an inch of the barrel cut back, just enough to make the barrel flush. Now it feeds any .22lr you load in it with out any malfunctions at all.

It is our lucky day.. I actually have a couple photos that Calico sent me themselves..I am thinking bak a few years but maybe I did mine myself when they explained it to me..If I did I would used a Dremel and a little cone shaped stone..They told me it was easy to do..I do remember that..You do it at the top of the barrel of course as the rounds feed downward into the barrel..

Here are two pics..They told me it only take a small amount of material to be stoned off.. I do not know why they sow the two arrows..But it is the black circled area that you do on the top of the barrel..

Hope they help..You can also call Calico and ask them for guidance if need be..They were always very helpful to me. And I recall the fella telling me it was easy to do the mod..

Thanks!!!!

I just did mine with a rubberized abrasive stone. There was already a little ramp there, but it didn't go very high. I made it go up more, but made sure not to bring the existing chamfer forwards if that makes sense.

It'll feed mini mags and automatch fine now. It does mush the tip a little, but that's probably how it is. It won't feed western which is pretty flat and cylindrical.

Good deal.. Yeah Mini Mags and even CCI SV always worked good in mine..I always tell people if a Firearm does not work with CCI, then yeah the weapon has a problem..LOL

They are odd looking Rifle.. But I kinda grew fond of the looks after a while. But I kinda like the different type of stuff.. I even owned an Edsel at one time...That never did grow on me no matter how much I looked at it..LOL
