Does anyone make a carbon fiber barrel for the Buckmark anymore? Or any aftermarket barrel?

Is there a reason why this carbine is not more popular? You never see threads on these.....

The carbon fiber barreled version if the buckmark from Browning was a "Gold Dealer" Item so you had to sell "X" amount of browning rifles to order one of the carbon fiber version barrels. Thus they did not make a whole lot of the,/ My local gander mountian had one in stock and I tough about putting it on layaway (Was looking for a light Coon rifle) when I came back to place it in layaway it had sold for 535 dollars. Not a cheap price.

That is the only one I have ever seen for sale. I have shot one at the range and believe it or not it was purchased at my local gander mountian.

I think Scott Volquartsen will still custom make the 14" CF barrels he listed as lightweight replacement barrels for the BM Silhouette Ultimate pistols. However they can't be used as made on the BM rifle because the rear of the barrel on the rifle has an angled notch as oppsoed to the pistols straight cut one.
Plus if you sent him a rifle barrel he might be willing to cut one of his 16" CF Ruger/Remington barrels to the correct breech. You won't know unless you ask. Providing he has the time because he does all the CF barrel work himself, not any of his workers.

There simply aren't many of them out there. Here's one ...

There have been reports of accuracy problems with the carbon barrel, but I'm pleased with the accuracy of mine.

However ...

This isn't a target rifle, not a Remington 37, not an A-Bolt .22. It's a very light, very rugged, very reliable field gun. It's perfect for hiking, packing, etc.

Believe me, if I found another in a store for under $600, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Enjoy!

Don't expect to see a carbon barrel BMR here in Canuckland. I can't really see the advantage, the sporter that I have is deadly accurate and well balanced. I usally take a couple of guns out gopher shooting and the BMR is always along. I've dispatched several hundred with it this year so far. The other is one of my Anschutz or the Belgian T1. They all get the job done in fine style. The landowners say Y'all come back soon.
