Any experience with this stock? How it compares to the Rimfire Thumbhole as far as comb height and weight. Would be used as a field rifle off bipod or tripod.

Mine is the FV SR. With low rings on the pic rail, the comb is in the right place.

I have an older base model Mark II still in the OEM plastic, and I’d rather carry it. It’s plenty accurate. Just harder to group lots of bullets in one place.

I REALLY like the Hogue stocks on my Rugers.

Thanks for the input. I handled one of the birch stocks a couple of days ago. Nice look and definitely more ridgid than what I have now. Mine shoots great on squirrels but I find my right wrist getting cramped after about 4-5 hrs of shooting off my tripod. I have a Boyds thumb hole on a Savage mkii and really like the feel. We shoot a lot of rounds every day. The rancher loves us. We love the opportunity to shoot.

I was on a fencing job out near Elko a few decades back…older rancher, kids moved out, and so, the pot guts were running rampant. We camped in one of his fields. Asked and got permission…just don’t shoot toward the house! 😅
We’d shoot every day, at meal breaks. Went through a brick and a half, by the time we left, you had to HUNT for a target, they were no longer easy to find.
