Any other clubs shoot 50 meter USBR matches?

I run a small shooting club here in New Brunswick, Canada.
We adopted the lovely USBR target as our benchrest target of choice for our unlimited matches.

Shooting the USBR target at 50m serves to be quite challenging.
Thus far the best score we have registered at a club match has been a 241.3x
(personal best for myself being a 239.4x)

Just looking to see who else may shoot this target at 50 meters?

When I started BR the target the club members were using was the USBR at 50 yds but they all moved on to the ARA target, except me. The highest score at the club was 250 17 x and I am going to keep going untill I beat it .....or die trying. My best so far has been 248 7x.

250-17x on USBR at 50 yards?? Wonder what kind of gun/ammo did that??

The club I shot at recgonized that many shooters came, shot couple targets and never came back. They then started shooting at 25 yards and a 250 was pretty regular-I did 21x two targets in a row in attempt to beat the guy next to me but he did the same(25 yards remember)50 yards the club record was 249 something. I did 244-8x on a lucky day.

Now the club I shoot at uses IBS at 50 yards. I can do 250-19x and one fellow did 250-22x.
the IBS id a lot different than USBR. I several time have tried to compare my IBS target w/ USBR. My 250-19 x would equal best I can figure about 240-10 or 12x.
Ive suggested using USBR targets (even supplying them) but no interest.
Ive given several gtargets to shooters to try-never seem to get feedback. I use USBR for practice--aim small-miss small in the IBS match.

I'm using a custom built Anschutz 1913 with a stock built by one of the legends in the USA; and I have a barrel tuner from Israel. Shooting CenterX.

We score the targets strict.
We have a few shooters from other clubs that shoot the bigger targets and have shot perfect scores on other targets and here they score 225 - 238 as the range normally...once or twice seen a 240 / 241 from them.

My local range uses the USBR target for a monthly match at 50 yards. No tuners or one piece rests allowed. Bipod and rear bag are ok. We have two classes, Sporter and Match. The Sporter class is made up of mostly CZs, but there are a couple semi-autos and a few others bolt actions. Match class is mostly Anschutz. Our club has generously provided wind flags for this match.

We score strictly as well. There is a cash payout for the top shooters in each match and a trophy with the top 3 shooters in each class at the end of the year. A match consists of 2 targets and you need 16 total to qualify for the end of year awards. (This allows you to miss a few matches and still be in the running for end of year) We take the top 16 scores for your year end total.

I started in the Sporter class with a CZ 455 Varmint. I wasn't keeping very good records when I started, so the highest score I have recorded with that rifle is a 233 ?x with SK Standard+. I know this year there have been two 236s (2x and 0x) from a CZ 455 and a Tikka T1x.

In 2018 I bought an Anschutz 1903 and started lot testing ammo. My personal best with that rifle and CenterX is a 245 3x earlier this year.

There are a few folks that have shot higher than that, and the competition is pretty stiff each match and people are getting better every year. We've determined that you'll need to average in the 240s to get top shooter awards this year. Last year the difference between 2nd and 3rd in the Match class was only 2 points!

Here are some of our Match class setups:

From scores and targets I have seen a 17X USBR Green Monster is off the charts. Like to see a pic of that one.
Off the charts? That doesn't begin to describe it and I'd have to call it a statistical anomaly of epic proportions!

I can't help but think it must be due to some type of scoring error.

Disregard the ABRA numbers in the diagram below. I generated this quite some time ago while trying to help Joe Chacon finalize the dimensions on the ABRA target and I'm fairly certain it's not correct for what Joe settled on.

I shoot the same match every month as pmpski_1 with the equipment/set up limitations he described.
We shoot on the 1st Saturday of the month in whatever conditions exist at the time. Good or Bad we shoot 2 targets back to back n 45 minutes.
Out of more than the many hundreds of scores shot over the years, the best has been a couple o 247's.
The highest X count was a 10.

So a 250-17X is so awesome that it completely destroys by a mile the current world record.
It even smashes the best unofficial score that I've ever heard of.

I'm in awe.

I started shooting club matches in 2014 at a local shooting club. They were shooting the USBR at that time and continued until 2017 at which point they switched over to the IR 50/50 target. The USBR is a tough target, and x's are hard to come by. I was looking back over my records and I think drknite was high point man in 2016 with a 248 in Unlimited Class. I think we finally had someone shoot a perfect 250 that would have been a record at the time, but we had dropped sanctioning at that point. I shot a 243-5x in sporter class that would also have qualified as a record.

I think we dropped that target for two reasons. One was that it had a tendency to discourage beginners. The other was that the paper quality of the target was such that it made really accurate scoring with a scoring plug difficult. As has been stated, a 250-17X would be pretty much off the charts.....more like an IR 50/50 score. I would love to see that target.

Gypsum Colorado- We shoot 22s every Monday night April through September. We rotate through open sight, scoped and pistol silhouette with bench rest one week per month.
No classes, shoot what ever you bring. Annies, 40x's, several 77/22'S, Savages from stock to hot rodded.
We use the USBR targets at 50 yards, winning scores are typically in the 220's.
Just don't take the longest to shoot. If you do it's hard to concentrate with everyone talking trash about you :)
Anybody is welcome to join us.
