I'm East of Rochester in Williamson. I live in the country in a woods so I can plink when I want, but joined the Williamson Gun Club last month so I could have a more formal place to shoot. Figured a real rang would be nice plus want to learn clay shooting with the 12g.
How is the Williamson Club? I joined up at RRC. Shooting indoors is nice, and so is 24/7 access, but it's only 50 feet. I'm thinking about trying to stretch that out this season.

I joined the Cortland Pistol Club, they have a short pistol oriented range in Groton NY. Actually might be a good place for a GTG if the club was ok with the concept I have a 200 plus acre farm as well, with around 7 miles of motorcycle trails where I converted a mile or so into my "shuffle and shoot" old mans exercise trail with some steel to ping. Also set up a 100,200,400 yard set of steel targets in one of the fields to plink at the top of that trail. A little too close to people to have a lot of folks up there. A couple of folks shooting rim fire would be alright from time to time maybe. (We have a lot going on here with horse, motorcycle, and farming activities so my shooting has to fit between the scheduling cracks)

I'm on the wrong side of Rochester to be close, but I shoot mostly rimfire. I have a Winchester pump and single shoot and a Ruger 10/22 with a 3-9X 40mm scope on order. I also have an old Hi-Standard semi auto at the FFL waiting for me to get my pistol permit. I bought the Hi-Standard back around 1967 and it had been stored in Ohio ever since I moved out here.

Late comer to this thread. I'm also in Brockport, and I shoot in Sporterifle during the winter. Great way to get out of the house once a week and shoot. Rochester has three or four clubs that have teams.
First shoot of the season is Sept 2. Check Sporterifle.org for more info.
Yes, this was a shameless plug. <g>
