Hi y’all. I just wanted to give a big shout out to Anschutz NA for the great job shipping some ammo I recently purchased. I explained that there is a FedEx driver that serves my home neighborhood area that either hates or loves guns because two ammo orders from Killough Shooting Sports over the past year have gone missing even though FedEx claims the orders were delivered. They have never turned up. ANA said they would ship UPS, which has always been great about shipments. First, the package arrived less than 48 hours after I submitted the order, and second, the name Anschutz North America was not in the box. It was the person’s name that I spoke to in the phone. That’s awesome. Thanks Anschutz North America!
On a similar topic, Some time ago before the FedEx ammo delivery was a problem, my neighbor received an ammo order that was for me. Yep, FedEx again. Well, these very senior, health challenged folks interact with me occasionally and they said they had a package for me. I went to pick it up and they asked what it was. When I told them it was .22 ammunition they were extremely upset that they had AMMUNITION in their house. I told them it was harmless without a gun and they calmed down a bit. Big surprise for me. I thought they were normal people. I’ve been in their house many times when I was in the fire department for their medical calls. Oh well, you never know about people. Next time I’ll tell them it’s car parts.
Anyway, something to think about when ordering ammo.

Just ordered some ammo from them Thursday and being delivered today.
You have the choice of who to use, Fedex or UPS, I always use UPS, never
no problem.

In my neck-o-the-woods UPS has become a real pain. Most of the local offices absolutely refuse to ship anything that is even remotely connected to firearms. They wouldn't ship a rifle scope for me and the next go around was they refused to ship a bare stock for me. Yeah I could have said it was optical equipment or lumber, but if anything would have happened to either item I could have been screwed on a reimbursement. I did try the main hub for UPS which is quite a drive for me, but they wanted all sorts of ID and rights to my first born son. So much for UPS for me. Fedex is much easier to deal with.

I watched a FedEx driver walk up to my door empty handed and stick a hang tag on the door. He turned around and was walking back to his truck when I ran to the door and yelled "Hey...I'm home!" He just got in his truck and drove away. FedEx stinks.

Open an account with UPS and fill out your shipping documents at home. Print out your mailing label, then take the package to a pickup point and drop it off. No questions asked. If you have an insurance claim, forget it. They make it so difficult and impossible to reach, you'll never see any restitution. USPS and FedEx are the same. As long as you aren't sending anything illegal or against their rules, you don't have to divulge what's in the package.

I worked in industrial distribution for 41 years and we shipped a ton of stuff over that time on UPS. In all those years I never heard of anyone getting a claim dispute resolved. For the most part they did a good job just hope that you don't have a problem. I'm sure it was the same with Fed Ex as well.

From my perspective the shippers seem to be a regional issue. I live in south east Michigan. My FFL has experienced nightmares with FedEx. Ammunition shipments with opened cases and missing boxes. They held a rifle I purchased for 11 days at their facility less than 5 miles from my FFL's building for no explainable reason. He offered to pickup the package himself but, was denied.
