Good morning all,

I have an Anschutz 1710 D HB. Is there a two stage trigger option for this rifle ?

Thanks

Paul

5109. Champ choice is out of them. If they had one, it would be $340+.
Not worth the expense. No more of a match trigger than the one stage.
The OP might ask International Shooters Service about converting his, if he wants to pursue it at a much lower cost.

Last time I talked to Mr Stepp he was charging about $300 for the conversion. He does a very good job, my sample of triggers he's converted function perfectly. If you want it for hunter class silhouette be sure to let Neil know and he will set it for a total pull weight of 2lbs. Good luck and happy shooting.

Correct me if I have misread the description . . . Anschutz 1710 D HB (wing safety)
My 1710 has a slide safety on the right side at the back of the bolt.
Wing safeties go back a few years.
Attempts to lighten the factory two stage trigger got it down to around one pound.
Discussions with the Tech at Nordic revealed the 180 gram triggers were available and bought two during the Boxing Week sale.
No regrets, The number is 5119 and the factory two-stage is 5109.

I recently purchased the 1719 D HB Classic. After taking it to the range, I concluded that a two stage trigger is what I wanted. The company turned to suggested a 5109/2 trigger. The safety is in the trigger assembly.
My 1710 has a "wing safety" in the bolt. The barrel ID # is "AI". Serial # 3091561 DE.

Is there a two stage option, or is it time to have the "D" reworked by an expert.

Reread my response. Saying wing safety says it all. I owned dozens of them.Gun age and serial number aren’t required. There is, if Champchoice gets them back in stock. I doubt that they will, but call them and ask them .
Look at their website. It’s clear which 1700 series two stage trigger model doesn’t have a side safety attached to it.That’s the one you want, and the only one used in that era.
You might also place an ad in the classified section, looking for someone to swap their wing safety two stage trigger for yours and a few bucks..

Years ago, I bought a NIB 1710 (build date 2010) which had the side safety but arrived fitted with a bolt handle from a rear safety bolt. I started a thread on here about it. The stock on this rifle was inletted to suit both the rear safety and side safety actions - The term "transition rifle" was being tossed around at the time.

My understanding is that the change over occurred in 2009.

I have three 54's with the wing safeties, dating from the 90's to 2006. As camster stated, the 5109 is the correct trigger for those models. I had one trigger modified by Neal Stepp, nice trigger, breaks clean. On another I bought a 5109 to replace the single stage in one of the 1710's, after some adj it also breaks clean and feels very nearly as good as that of my 54.18, it just can't be adjusted as light. Good luck with your search.
