RAR Compact .22wmr with Barska 3-12x Airgun rated scope in Weaver Grand Slam rings on Weaver #12 bases, home done Camo and trigger spring removed.

The rifle will do MOA with Rem. 33 gr and Hornady 30gr vmax loads and 1.5 MOA with a couple of 40gr loads, a fine little rifle for the money.

 

I think I'm going to try and replicate this paint job. I really like it.

 

My compacts with full-size stock modules and 3x-9x 40mm scopes.

That's another good looking set up! Really breaks up the black and if it peels off, you can always try a different pattern just because.

Huntsman, your camo job is exactly what I would like to do to my Izhmash. Can you describe the process and let me know what products you used, please?

 

Toughest part of huntsman's camo job is finding the web paint at least in my area, I'd planned on doing my RAR in OD green and the black webbing but none to be found in my county, it does look very good.

 

Krylon makes the webbing paint. Try Michaels Hobby shops or go here http://www.michaels.com Then click on store locator. They have stores in NC and Michigan.

 

'swede, degrease and mask the stock. Shoot a couple coats of krylon fusion paint(mine is khaki). Follow it up with krylon webbing spray and a couple coats of matte clearcoat. unmask, put back together, go shoot......easy/peasy

RAR in .22 magnum. BSA Contender 4-16x40 mil-dot

All 5 shot groups @ 25 yds. Mine is one of the first batches of RARs shipped and has some of the flaws that draw
complaints, but this rifle is the most accurate, out of the box .22 mag I've ever shot.

After watching countless NUTNFANCY videos and seeing all his duracoated .22's i really wanted to replicate his results, so I spent some time today and painted my RAR compact. I'm still waiting for a scope but figured why not. I was gonna duracoat it but figured I am pretty good with a rattle can so what the heck. I did disassemble the rifle a bit, pulled the bolt and action from the stock. I masked off the mag well, chamber, safety, sights and trigger group.

 

Just got my .22 mag compact today! Ordered a standard butt stock with riser. Got my one piece scope mount on, and just need to get my scope. Can't wait to shoot it!

yes it is. its the high... probably could have got away with the medium...

 

FYI Rustoleum Camo paint does NOT like Hoppe's #9 solvent Lol. My RAR may just be going back to black. At least the barreled action anyway. Here's a target from today still hoping with more rounds down range the groups will tighten up.



Edit: I used the Hoppe's solvent tonight to remove all the paint on the barreled action. I used a toothbrush but it didn't get the paint out of the stamped and etched lettering. I think a brush with thinner bristles may work.

holds up great. The fusion is made specifically for plastic....

 

That's what Krylon Fusion is made for, shoot 3 or 4 layers of matte clear over it for even more protection.
