Hello everyone,
I saw this .22WMR for sale on Cheaper Than Dirt. Yes, I know, they have been price gouging and we should all boycott them, but all things considered, the price is worth considering in today’s marketplace. They are selling 500 rounds for around $400. They say it’s made by Winchester. Here is a copy of the ammo specifications from their web page:

Features and Specifications:
Manufacturer Number:N22MAG40HPVP250
Caliber: .22 WInchester Magnum Rimfire
Bullet Type: Jacketed Hollow Point Projectile
Bullet Weight: 40 Grains
Category: Rimfire Ammunition
Muzzle Velocity: 1875 fps
Muzzle Energy: 312 ft/lbs
Casing: Brass
500 Rounds Per Case
Usage: Plinking, Small Game Hunting, Varmint Hunting
Made In The USA

So I was wondering... Does anyone have any experience with this ammo? I normally shoot CCI TMJ for target or silhouette shooting out to 100m but I am running low on ammo and don’t want to pay Gunbroker prices for more CCI TMJ. I know that by the time I decide it will all be gone, but based on y’all’s experience I might consider getting some next time.
Thanks for your responses.

I don't think it was their intent to say the ammo is made by Winchester, but hard to tell with CTD. The Winchester is in reference to 22 WMR i.e. 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire. I couldn't find anything online as to who actually makes the American Quality line of ammo.

Here is the link for the ammo listed at Cheaper Than Dirt. I found a few old reviews online for the company for other calibers of ammo. The folks seem neutral, not good nor bad. So I suppose if the price was right it would be a decent buy for practice/plinking. However, at .80 per round I would expect better performance. I also researched reloading .22 WMR. There were mixed, inconsistent results. Decided that was not an option after I read about "brass pieces imbedded into various body areas" following a test shoot.

It's funny how perspective changes though. I remember just a couple of years ago not buying some match 5.56 ammo from the CMP for .90 a round. Outrageous! Now it's probably not possible to buy any brand or type of 5.56 ammo for less than $1 per round. Oh well, life goes on....

I think its made by Armscor USA.

AQA appears to be an ammo reseller, buying product from various manufacturers when the price is right, and selling under their own lable.

I bought 750 rounds of it recently, in an Armslist Parking lot exchange, and it shoots fine, not hornady ballistic tip fine , but good enough for me and my magnums. A CZ 455 FS, a Winchester 9422M and a Savage 93. But I just want something that hits close to the bullseye.

I got an email that Montana AR15 has these for American Quality round and as I looked up the name I saw this thread. Has anyone used these rounds?

$91.29 for 500 rounds

These are Armscor USA
$97.49 for 500 rounds

GOD Bless you and your families

As dismal as American made 22rf ammo is I would not be encouraged to buy some called 'American Quality'
It has to be a hustle
