Yep, that's exactly what I have heard. Can't blame Federal for axing it since ALL .17wsm is made by Winchester and the quality is very spotty. Depending on what someone's level of 'decent ammo' is, there is no decent rimfire ammo being manufactured in the United States.
I thought you might mean that ALL American Eagle was discontinued, so I had to look. So much ammo is being repackaged with new names and higher prices.
I like the AE .22LR. It's decent enough that's it's my number two choice below Mini Mags. AE centerfire is good, too.
Let me try and chase down a source, it's in the cobwebs of my many gun conversations.
Think American eagle was revamping some aspect of it, not sure if it's repackaging or a new recipe. Cannot remember if it was read or overheard but I'll try and chase it down.
