One scope for one and open on the rest.

 

I have some 10/22s myself and 1 out of every 5 10/22s scoped is a good ratio. Maybe later go to 2 out of 10.

 

Sounds like 20% should be sufficient.

 

Scope the most accurate one, 2 with nice iron sights, and sell 2, then use that for a nice AR style 22..

 

1st question Did you build them with sights?

 

Only one has no sights and is scoped with a Vortex 4x16 Diamond back. I like the idea of peep sights

 

I have two. Both are scoped because my vision sucks.

 

Definitely one of them deserves a set of tech peep sights.

 

I scope all of mine, mostly because of my eye sight. I also have the see thru scope rings so anyone can use the open sights. I also don’t have expensive scopes on them now, but would like to make one of the 10/22’s a 100 yard tack driver with a nice scope.

 

I have two 10/22s. One has a decent scope and is setup for ORPS Competition. The other is a take down with a red dot setup for free hand 25 yard plinking.
Love em both.

 

Depends on the purpose of each one. Precision bench shooting= higher power scope. Hunting= lower power scope. Fast action shooting= red dot or irons. Plinking= whatever you want.

 

There is no wrong answer...

 

Starting >30 years ago my vision began changing so from my perspective they would all get an optic of some sort.

 

Depending on how far away they will shoot accurately, I’d:

-scope one with a 4-12x
-scope a second with a 2-7x
-Marbles bullseye one one (barrel mounted)
-Skinner aperture one one (back of receiver)
-factory open sights.

You’d have one setup for any practical range whether hunting, plinking, target shooting, or pest control.

Built 5 , but now you have a budget. Sure, make sure the all have the same rails , get QD rings, and youre all set. This should also tell you which barrel is drooping or canted So you can fix that.

 

I'd scope 2 peep sights on 1 and ghost ring on the next one for quick target acquisition on vermin and small predators and leave the second one as a backup or experimental base or possibly with a good quality red dot or any one of the million other sights you see 👀 on practically every pistol, revolver, or rifle or shotgun these days battery companies love shooters!

 

You have built 5 of the same rifles while on a limited budget?🤔

 

Scope them all...let god sort them out. Or something like that.

On a side note, I saw the title of this thread and thought "Who the hell is out shooting a 10/22 in minus 5 degrees????"

 

I'm inclined to agree on the 5 degrees... Celsius maybe, Fahrenheit no way...I ain't training for the next winter Olympic biathalon 🤣 I'd have to wear a kamikaze headband cause me and skis are a one way trip especially when near trees and boulders or old hedge fence posts...Kansas just sayin 😁

 

I’m old, and so are my eyes.
The ATI unit with the Tech Sights is my oldest.
The scopes are all 3-9x or 4-12x

Finalize 2 with best parts from the others. Keep 2, one with the current scope you have, one with red dot. Sell the other 3 since 2 will outlast you and allow you to get to know them very well.

You are going to get really tired of re-zeroing the scope every time you switch rifles. Pick the rifles you want scopes on and buy the glass for them. Maybe telescopic on one, Red Dot on another, aperture, Oh, and open sights on the rest. Ready for all of eventualities.
