They were available now, I just placed an order.

 

Yes it's 6PM east coast and I just checked. The magwell with extended release was available in both right and left.

 

midwest Industries had them when L3I was out. I love mine.

 

I looked at midwest web site before ordering direct from L3i. Searching for L3i on the Midwest site returned "no results", no mags, no knobs, nothing from L3i.

 

I just ordered a right hand complete. Both right and left still show in stock.

 

What is the benefit of the L3i mag well?

 

The original is plastic. If you shoot competitively in timed events, getting your mag in and out quickly is important. The plastic ones often break under hard use. And having an extended release is a benefit if using 10rd or more mags.
