Lots of F AE 17 WSM at the local show today. $15.00 box. I picked up one box for my collection of .17 caliber stuff. It had been way too costly to buy until the last few weeks when a new supply hit the market.

Went back out today. I put 10 Federal's downrange after running 50 Winchester 20gr's through it.
I had no problem hitting a 4"x14" popper in its' 1"x2" "head" at 220yds with Federals.
I guess they like a fouled bore?

I saw today that the local Walmart had a case of the American Eagle ammo. What a surprise. Will have to get a couple of boxes. I hope it doesn't have the WW issue with split necks. Most of our fliers/group busters came from split necks. The rifle wants to shoot. I have been blaming the ammo for the inconsistent groups.

17wsm ae

I have a T/C with an MGM barrel. I brought a brick of the AE, it shoot much better than the WW 25gr. However, I shot a couple of jacks today, bullet broke up pretty fast, one was 135yds. ?is that a Vmax bullet on the AEs?

I'm going in Aug to shoot PD, I'm going to try the 20gr. The gun shoot them under an inch.

I've only noticed a few split necks with the AE. I do have a few FTF and some flyers.

Hey Guys
I've been away for a long time and have come back to the forum. Can someone update me or throw some links at me about the .17WSM. I'm guessing from what I read that the round was a let down and a few other manufactures are starting to make the round. Anyway, if your bored and like typing, I'll be grateful for any direction/info.
