Anybody removed the hanguard or barrel. I wanted to clean it under the handguard. I have seen tools to do this on ebay, but not really sure how it works? Thanks SS

Pop the cap off the front of the handguard.

At the rear of the handguard (inside) there's a nut that needs a 4 dog tubular wrench.
This clamps the receiver between the nut and the flange on the breech end of the barrel.
Shine a light in the holes in the handguard; you'll see the notches.

New quad rail / barrel nut removal tool

Check this one manufactured by H&W Steel. It uses a two piece poly bushing so you can check the nut or remove it without taking off the compensator (if you are using a free float hand guard). The compensator is off in this picture because the barrel had just been threaded. Black oxide coated steel so it won't get sticky with cleaning solvent. Also has a full hex on the end for easy wrenching.

Instructions are here: http://www.hwsteelinc.com/pdf/1522bw-03.pdf

quad rail removal

If you don't use the original plastic support that came with the gun; or if you use an aftermarket free float quadrail, you don't have to remove the flash hider when using the H&W wrench. I Don't know about the shoo wrench. For the H&W wrench, you can call 337-625-2379. I think Brownells has the other one.

The Shoo Wrench can not fit over the flash hider. The H&W wrench does fit over the flash hider as stated above. You can buy both wrenches directly from me and I can save you a few $$$, thanks, Shooboy
