NOW, wanna introduce a "starter" up game; and a "few" guidelines;

since this game is measured in MM's, plz mark your targets in Metrics.
IF your caliper does not have that button to switch to Metric, simply multiply
your groups by 25.4 and you will have the MM equivalent

> any bolt action as was decided upon here, sporters and varmints are both welcome, NO seperate classes,

> targets of your choice are to be shot at 50 yards. 4 shots each bull, 4 bulls on one card. to qualify,

Rico,

Thanks for starting this up, hope it is easier with the bolt than with the auto. But I'm having my doubts.

Man I tried my best tonight, but just wasn't in the cards. My CZ just flat refused tonight to shoot straight, almost believe it was doing it on purpose to me an laughing at me the whole time.

Tried 3 different rounds, GB's X-perts, and 510's. Would put 3 in 1-hole and fly the other 2 off in random directions, LOL.

Will have to keep trying , maybe the Savage will have a go at it while the CZ takes a rest. :D

RICOCHET I believe you got a typo on the required group size there bro. If you find 'em eating this one up then bring back the 9mm, I'm with rigger this one will keep alot of folks busy for a while. Especially with the .22lr. the others should eat it up.

"typo" ?

gmd,

you lost me there. can you point me to my error? not very good in math, lol,

thanks,

rico....

thats OKAY, gerald. decimal was in the wrong place, and thanks for that,

#4 ·
Thanks Rico, for everything.

I'll be giving it a go. But first, some preparation is in order. Hopefully, before the weekend is over, I plan to build a target-holder. You've seen the pics of my "range." Those political yard signs are great - as long as the wind isn't blowing! I intend to build some steel angle iron frames that won't sway in the breeze. :bthumb: Hard enough to shoot bug holes when the target stays still. LOL

#8 ·
BTW, all,

re-vised the "rules" to read 4 shots per bull instead of 5. that should give
a bit of lee-way.

now that is the kind of feedback i was looking for. thanks, all,

rico....

Rico,
Man, you got it all wrong. What you do is:
1. Shoot a target.
2. Make up the rules to go along with your target. (you know, like writing a government contract) LOL :D

#13 ·
Alright, my OLD pirate brain can't process all these changes and chatter - Is this game afoot or am I subscribing to another phantom thread? :D

Rico, sorry you felt the need to change your game - Seems to be an over abundance of "Enthusiasm" in this new forum. Think we all need some of "JJ's Water".

I'll make a run at whatever game you cook up as your games are usually doable and butt kickers to boot - What more could anyone ask for? :D :bthumb:

yea, bigfoot,

that is sorta what i was doing. if i shoot 3 good groups out of 4, then another
"edit" is coming up, haha, LOL,

too funny, reminds me of another forum,

rico....

#15 ·
yea, Ops, it is there ready to go.

why not be the 1st. ?

50 yds, any bolt gun that was decided upon here, 4 shot groups, 4 groups
on one card with 4 mzrn'g singles. you know the rest of the drill, lol,

rico....

#18 ·
I got lucky on the original 13mm Funner - Think someone else with take the honors of being first in this new one. Who's it going to be? Rico, think you should show the way...:D :bthumb: Or maybe Rigger? He's probably out shooting as you read this! :D

hay, rigger,

i have a mission for tomorrow, besides stapling up new targets, lol, and hope its not raining like today, but spring is almost here,

good/bad, will be posting pics of targets @ 50 yds, lol with a BOLT.
"how bout dat" ?

rico....

#19 ·
Ops,

showing my ignorance, or forgetfulness, but dont you have a bolt gun?

i thought you had a ........

yea, rigger is one pirate i would want on my crew, a real die hard, esp with
the ammo he "likes" to use. he's worse than i am, LOL,

rico....

#21 ·
I have a few but only one rimfire - CZ 452 American with a Brooks trigger kit.

Yep, Rigger will be posting targets any minute now...

Well I still don't have a night light out back yet or I think I would go shoot a few rounds, LOL.;)

Thanks Rico, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to have to step up the quality of the ammo. Going to set the CZ and the Savage down tonight and have a long talk with them, they have got to do there part in these games I can no longer carry them as my eyes aren't what they used to be. So its about time they start carrying there own weight.:D

Then I'll see what happens, but even if its fugly will post a pic of the target tomorrow.

#23 ·
Hey Ops you hold out , ya got a CZ to. How do ya like yours and how is its accuracy? Haven't seen one yet(well till tonight) that didn't shoot very good.

Been thinking about a American, varmint, or a full stock, myself. The Trainer is getting lonely .

#26 ·
Haven't shot my CZ in well over a year and it will shoot a little better than my SuperStockers in its present state - Only mod or tweaking is the Brooks trigger kit. Need to get it out of the safe for some attention to see if my memory is correct.

The only thing I HATE about the CZ rimfire rifles is the trigger guard - Absolutely hideous!

Rico, check out the 453 with the single set trigger - The one I tried was really sweet...

Ops,

I just never got the trigger guard thing, I think they look pretty good myself. Heck it matches the rcvr on my trainer, LOL.

Is kinda funny though how the rcvr and trigger guard is matte and the barrel polished.

#28 ·
well, Ops,

here is a good chance to see what it will do after sitting for so long.

dont have one YET, so cant comment on the trigger guard, but how bad can
it be? if it's metal, it'll be okay with me. just my take,

rico....

#30 · (Edited)
Man Ops if you haven't shot it in over a year send it to me I'll rebreak it in for you and give you a full bulk ammo report that could save you in future ammo costs. :D

Rico,

They all shoot pretty good. The American and the full stock seem to get some really good wood, with the varmint being kinda plain walnut, not alwasy but more so than the others.

Here's a full stock version.

I'll be watching to see how it goes. Hoping that I will get the opportunity to join in these new games by the middle of summer. I already tied too much up in the next three SS/A rigs that I am building to back off now, and so the new bolt is gonna have to wait. That's ok, I'll just keep sipping my "water" and chasing the SS/A games for now I guess. Don't forget to stop in to your old alma mater once in a while guys.
