For those who want a beautiful SS 10/22
Ruger just ship a batch of Classic V TALO Fish Scale Checkering.

If your local gun shop don't have them.
Gunbroker has 1 page full of them . Ignore the crazy price . There are enough of the normal price to go around.

KYGUNCO also have them

This is quite a handsome rifle if you ask me. Better looking than the boy scout or american rancher model .

You just gotta love the Talo Classics. I think I am up to date and have one of each including the V. When I started my collection of the classics, I needed a II for about two years and lucked into a BNIB one on GB after a daily search for two years. Can't wait to see the next classic.:bthumb:

Very nice rifle. I really like the straight English style stock. Beware, however, I have one of the Talo Manlicher with basket weave checking and while I am happy with the final product after I reworked it, I was not happy with the original rifle. Sags in the finish, a buggered end cap screw and a trigger that was over 10 pds. I refinished the stock and ordered the new screw from Ruger and had a gunsmith rework the trigger. I would have thought a special edition would have had better quality control.

Thanks. I haven't shot it yet. I keep going to walmart, cabelas, and academy, but so far no luck finding shells. They had some at the gun show, but I refuse to overpay. I'll find some eventually. I can't believe the most common shell is this hard to find. Sheeesk!

I purchased that rifle over a year ago for my grandson and it is a very fine looking rifle. The price from kygunco is reasonable at $315. Heck I believe that's what I paid for the gun back then. The wood stock is nice but not that rich dark walnut that comes with the Sporter model. Beautiful scale work. FYI, I was surprised that this rifle came with 2 - 10 rd rotary mags.

Really wish they had skipped the goofy checkering pattern and emblem in the buttstock on these rifles and others like it. I'd be all over a couple of these TALO rifles if it were not for those two irritating things.

It's to be different. Look at all the other styles of checkering on grips, etc that have zero to do with firearms. All the "scale" patterns really scream firearm. :roll eyes: Why have "fleur de lis patterns if the rifle isn't French? French walnut on an American rifle? got son and on...;)

Very nice rifle.:t Isn't it unusual to have a stainless barrel and silver receiver with a blued trigger group? I do not recall ever seeing that combination before.
