My Model 514 has P H 5. If I understand the code correctly, the P H mean it was made in 6/1961. Does the 5 mean anything?

5 is an inspectors/proof mark only, has no other significance, seems to be a popular one though as several of my Remingtons have it. There are many others, both symbols and numbers. Eugene Myszkowski has a section dedicated to these in his book "Remington Autoloading & Pump action Rifles. Centerfire only unfortunally.
