any of you guys have a model that you wished you had picked up when you initially saw it at the LGS..only to go back later to get it, and it was gone

I had a chance to pick up a used SS Compact in a black laminate stock earlier this week at Sportsman's Wharehouse in Yuma, but I let it slide, thinking it would hang around a little while on the shelf, and I could always come back later in the week and pick it up

went in today to look at it again, and make a decision on bringing it home, and it had already sold...shoulda' known better...these last few years that I've been messing around with these Compacts, this was the first black laminate stocked one I'd seen..

pic for reference...not the actual rifle at Spoertsman'e

oh well, I can only hope some kid received it as a reward for doing something great, and realizes it's something a bit unique

yeah, sadly you may be right...maybe I'll go back to Sportsman's tomorrow morning and let the guys behind the counter know that I"m interested in the stock if it comes back to be sold on it's own...and I'll also keep a close eye on the local facebook marketplace to see if it shows up there as well

...I mean it's not like I really need another Compact in the rack anyway, have 5 already, 3 purple 1 pink, and a birch...but this one was a black/SS combo and to me at least, a little unusual because of that
You snooze you loose. Thats the wood I put on my commercial Garand restock job after I retired. Boyds calls it Winter Laminate. It has a black sling on it now. Turned out nice. Hopefully your stock turns up.

That's a great looking rifle. For me, it's the wood stocked stainless Walmart exclusive model they had years ago. I wanted one at the time and never bought it. I've kicked myself since.
well it's been about 6 weeks since I missed the opportunity to pick up the black laminate SS Compact...

every dealer in the area now knows I'm definitely looking for one, as I've become quite a thorn in their sides looking for another one...it's getting to the point where I don't even have to tell anyone what I'm looking for, before I get a negative response by the people behind the counter..

Yup, looked at one of the 10-22 M1 carbine setups at a gunshow a while back. Always liked the carbine but had to think about it. Of course when I went back it was gone. Luckily about a year later at another show one was waiting for me. Didn't wait that time.
Yeah.
I have a couple of Kick-Myself's
Nice stock, by the way
No barrel band!

What would one of those stocks be worth here on RC?

if you're asking what a used black laminate Compact stock is worth...it's worth about the same as any other used factory stock...not much

..I just gave away a pink one about a month ago

Just wondering, I'll probably put something in it one day.

There you go! (y)
Been wanting it…….see it…….buy it. Don’t hesitate.
I am sure most everyone has done this, second thoughts, or saying I'll get it later never works out in your favor. Ask me how I know.

I've been involved with firearms, in one fashion or another, for over 50 years...and this is the first firearm (or firearm related item) that I really wanted, and missed out on by hesitating...won't happen again

I always thought I could go get a 9410 shotgun whenever I was ready. Well, I have not even seen one in twenty years.
