Actually yes... I had thought that hitting the sound barrier was at 1000fps... but it isnt actually it is as follows...

If shooting the Wolf MT out of a pistol your MV maybe even lower than 1050 fps. I believe test barrels are in the 20-22" range.

I was getting 1100 fps out of my 16" pac lite barrel and my 20" ruger hammer forged.

Perhaps that 1050 figure IS out of a shorter barrel. It would be nice if they'd state what length barrel the speeds are derived from.. With out that reference point, the speeds (at least to me) are some what meaning less.

I have never had Wolf MT go supersonic. It always stays subsonic as I have never heard the crack like you get when it goes over the sound barrier.

I've chronographed a lot of Wolf M/T ammo using a GM 18" barrel and get an average of about 1040 fps a couple inches from the muzzle......My 5.5" Ruger SS6 averages about 970 fps....I thought there would be a much greater difference in velocity between the two but all I can surmise is that Wolf uses a fairly fast burning powder that doesn't need much barrel length to get "up to speed"....(sure "stinks" though IMHO LOL)

BTW, yesterday I clocked some Peters HV ammo which is advertised at 1255 on the box and got velocities from 1100 to 1150....I've found that Remington is often a little "optimistic" on their velocity claims....(centerfire too)

The velocity figures are interesting because the wolf MT is the only ammo that has exceeded the stated figures in both my 10/22's. Wierd Huh?
