Ok enough guys have posted tons of groups, now it's the ladies turn. Took the G/F out to the range Saturday, for some small group attempts. She has been shooting only 5 times (all with me, guess I got her hooked) and at 25 yds just getting her used to the rifle, and she did really good at that range(search the end of "the ultimate raptor" thread for pics. So now we move to the 50 yard line to see what she can do. Rifle is a raptor with kidd barrel and bolt, Weaver T36 and the usual stock trigger mods(about 2.5 lb pull) SK match ammo. all 5 shot 50 yds.

Female shooters

I find it common that the gals beat the crap out of the guys! There are some reasons for that. They listen well to instruction, they bring no bad habits and they seem to be less shaky when shooting in general.I have 4 air rifle shooters that are shooting great. The top 2 are gals.they are always ahead of the guys. Not by a lot but they listen and that's where they gain the extra points. We as guys know it all by times and that gets us into trouble.

Took the little lady to the range again to kick my butt, and she did. First two are identical .408s (outside measurements) and one a bit better. FYI this rifle's single hole average is .20 , so these are all sub 1/4" CTC at 50 yds. Rifle and ammo same as before SK match 5 shots 50 yards. The only difference is the T36 is on my build, and she now has the Eraticator on this gun.

Yea, she's doing good. I figured going from a 36 power to a 25 power scope(with a lot bigger dot) would make things a bit more even (heh heh) so she asked me " look at that group hun, is that good one?" so I see the .381 group thru the 36X and say "yes hun that was a good one" Sulking, of course !

I've found the same thing when shooting against my female cadets, they usually shoot better then many males. They still dont beat me or my two top shots though.......yet. This is because we shoot every weekend.

That's some nice shooting, gunnar! My compliments to the lady :bthumb:
i'll give an amen !! my wife grew up in southern indiana ; all the family were hunters & shooters . when we first met [at church] , she just came back from a family reunion ; her shoulder was all bruised from shooting a shotgun all weekend !! she can kick my butt at the range anytime ! [well , so can my son & daughter !]

I hope to get my X...........returned G/F into shooting. She has been shot though (not by me) and is a bit jumpy. It is dangerous ground, but I'm determined. I believe everyone should know how to shoot. Ya' never know when that skill may be needed.

The first gun my GF shot was my grandpa's 10/22. We let her go through a single 10rd mag at a pile of wood, then we put up a target at about 15yd. Her second 10 rounds ever was a 3" group with open sights and standing offhand! Since then, she has never ceased to amaze me. One time my roommate and I were shooting at some piece of paper in the back yard with an air rifle, and neither of us could hit it. She came out there and asked to try, and after asking if its loaded and ready to go, she shouldered it and hit it dead center. When we shoot in the back yard

She was better than me until recently when I started to practice a bunch more.

Took the lady to the range again so I could get owned. Winds 15-25 mph from right. Wolf MT 25 yards 5 shot groups. 4 shot single hole average: .21. Subtract that from whats on the dial to get CTC. So these are around 1/8" with a .10 thrown in for good measure.
