I have a rifle with a Lyman 17A front sight. I need a larger aperture, the one I have is a 2.8 and is too small for 50 yard shooting, I need a 3.0 and/or a 3.2. Have searched all the logical internet sites, they either dont stock them or are out of stock. It has to be an aftermarket item, Lyman only made inserts up to 2.8. Any help appreciated.

I have had to drill out front and rear apertures before to get where I needed to be. Just another option if you have no luck locating one.

Thanks Shorty, I have a set of wire drills but they are in Wyoming and I'm in Arizona. 😟

Might have to make a trip to Lowe's.

I'd drill it too but Amazon has sets including .110 and .120 which brackets 3mm. $21 or so if you want the easy way out

Upon further reflection, I remembered that 1/8 " equals .125 which equals 3.175 mm. Perfect. Got out my 1/8 drill bit and drill, opened up the aperture to 3.175 mm , reinstalled aperture and anxious to get back to the range. TOhe original 2.8 was semisortof OK but not quite enough white around the bullseye, kept fading out. We'll see.
