I know this has been asked before but I could not find it..

What is the difference between a 1022 magnum and a 1022 LR, trigger group?

And Are they interchangable?

What would be needed to put a LR group into a Magnum rifle?

There are two parts that are different in the trigger groups.

The Magnum has a stronger Hammer spring and the Bolt's "Hold Open" latch is shaped different and made stronger.

If ya compared the Ruger part's list. That's the only two items with different part #s.

Ya can use the 10-22 LR trigger in yer magnum. if your firing pin
is in good shape. meaning the weaker hammer spring will
still hit with enough force.
The bolt hold open device will still work in the magnum. It just
will not hold open the bolt as far.

The reason for my question was,

I have a complete Volquartsen trigger group for a 22LR. I want to use in my Magnum.

I have a Titanium firing pin in the magnum now.

I had some feeding problems and misfires, till I readjusted the Magazine and replaced the firing pin.

Chief says : it will work just fine.

The LR bolt hold open device , will not hold the bolt open
as far , when used in the 10-22 magnum - but will work.

The feeding problems were no dought - magazine tension.

The miss fires = firing pin = weak link in the 10-22 magnum.

Titanium = lighter in weight - gives weaker hits on rims.
be prepaired to replace it soon. An aftermarket steel
firing pin is your best bet.
When buying new steel pin = seek one with a flat type
point vrs the factory looking " pointed one" .
they are hard to find , but they are out there.

I swapped the Volquartsen parts into my magnum Trigger group, and kept the Magnum hammer spring.

Now the trigger pull is in the 3 to 3.5lbs. range. I can easily live with this. This will defiantly make a difference.
