OK, so I've been slamming Cooper wood lately, and deservedly so. A few years ago I got flamed for dissing the wood on my then new VE in 6BR. After seeing the wood on todays guns, my 6BR was graded fairly. Even though I still am not a big fiddle fan, after a fews years of Howard's the wood has even popped some more. Looking at some of my older guns as you can see below, the wood was graded fairly.

My VE in 6BR...AAA

My VE in 221FB..AAA

And my 223 in MTV with wood upgrade from Hendershots..AAA

I'd call them all AAA+.:t

Yeah, i've been hearing guys ***** about their wood for 20 years, kind of get tired of hearing it. One person get one that was maybe under graded and then that becomes the standard that everybody expects. JMO
