I've got a 4200 6-24-40 on my Marlin 17VS and love it. The Savage 93R17 wears a Mueller 4-16-50. I much prefer the Bushnell 4200 and it still meets your criteria of under $400 through SWFA. You'll love the 4200.

ANyone seen this scope by BSA? It's made just for the .17HMR.
It comes in 4x 12x 40mm and 6x 18x 40mm. I have never used a bsa scope. Anyone have any information?

I am using a Bushnell 4-12X40 Banner with Warne rings on my CZ American and couldn't by happier with it's performance. The Warne dovetail rings are excellent by the way for the CZ rifles because they have a reversible clamp on them for regular straight style dovetails on one side and for the tapered dovetails on guns such as the CZ on the other. They also are great looking and are not bulky.

Weaver V-16 with burris zee rings. Anyone out there with the v-24 in mildot? Was wondering if the mildot is nice or is a big wire one. Mabey I'll just get another dual-x V-24 for my next scope
