I like (just for fun shootin) the little cheap metal swinging targets at wally world!! For accuracy I like the little bity pellet 25' targets!! Shooting those at 50yds is a challenge when the whole circle is as big as the cross hairs!! You can't even see the bulls eye you just center it and hope for the best... Me and my cousin count the pnts and play like the first to 50 or something it makes for a fun day!! :)

My all time favorite is a one gallon milk jug filled with jello. Combine that with a 180 gr round nose at 30-40 yards, well...:D It's a good way to show the effects of a bullet.

I also like plates (steel), cans of cheap soda, golf balls, eggs, apples, oranges. Oh, and these guys...

Don't worry, they're not original.

Just think, if the targets were lifesize ones of Rosie O' and Michael Moore instead, you could blindfold the shooters and spin them around (like with a pinata) and the person shooting would still have a good chance of getting hits on them. :D
For basic plinking fun, I favor the steel soup cans - they last longer and dance better than soda cans.
The yellow foam practice golfballs are good, to. They withstand a lot of .22 shooting, and don't bounce as far as real golfballs, letting you shoot more before having to retieve them.
well coffee cans wiht a 12 ga is more than fun :D but a well shake coke vs a quickshot is pretty **** cool! also 1 gal milk jug filled with water and hit with a quickshot ;)
My favorite target? Tacks :D ;) :D :t

My favorite plinking target is a clay pidgeon with the middle knocked out. Tie it to a low branch and let it swing...Walk 25 yards away and see if you can hit it.....Dang hard.
Oh yeah.. when I am shootin for accuracy with paper targets I always like to stick a few extra tacks just for fun.... And the milk jug full of water if pretty good but you need to tape the lid on for more of a explosion.... I shot one with a 175gr 7mm the other day... it was in three pieces and 20yds father than where it started from....... Also take about 6-8 thick phone books and tape them all together and soke them for a day or so and at 50 to 100 yds they can withstand a pretty good impact!!! and you can test different bulllets for damage that way also!!!:)
Beer cans, golf balls and paintballs.....

Ice cubes

Balloons

Clay pidgeons

Caps from .5 liter soda bottles

12 ga. shotgun shells (empty)

And of course my all time favorite: Bowling pins! (with .45 auto)

I have never thought of the paintball idea. Have a case of the stuff, just never thought of shooting AT it. :D

Paintballs are a good sized target, and you KNOW when you hit them :D

MY FRIEND MADE ME A STEEL BOWLING PIN SWINGER TO SHOOT AT. IT HANGS ON AN OLD REALTY SIGN FRAME I FOUND. YOU JUST PUSH IT IN THE GROUND AND BLAST IT.I LIKE TO SHOOT PINS AND THIS WAY YOU HAVE TO STOP AND SET EM BACK UP IT JUST SWINGS.
Cheapest cans of pop or soda water I can get my hands on (They explode). Baked been tins, hockey pucks, Clay targets, steel gong, bright coulored golf balls, GUM NUTS, Acorns, Water ballons, Hellium filled balloons swayin in the wind hanging from a tree(shotgun is preffered, rat shot is optional) and old matchbox cars, Barbie dolls. :D
Fresh apples and oranges explode great! So do pears, you hit the core with a nice hp or v-max (22wmr) and its neat. The plus is the mess left over is food for critters or birds.
Soda cans smashed flat and hung from a string so they will dance. I like the paintball idea, I'm going to try it. :D
Cheap

Paper Plates, a roll of Duct Tape and a Sharpie....

Use the inside of the tape roll to draw a perfect circle on the bottom of the plate...

Circle the outside of a quarter in the middle for real shooters...

Tape to a tree or whatever...

Great for 10 or 14 round groups @ 50 Yds...
My favorite plinking target would be a twelve point typical Whitetail with at least a BC 200 score.

:D

You call that plinking, what do you call hunting.
At least I know their more to 12 point hunting than Red deer(Cervus elaphus). We call that a "Royale". Don't know the typical Douglas score.
I'VE RAN OFF SEVERAL COPIES OF SEVERAL OF THE TARGETS RIGHT HERE ON THE RFC SITE. THEY ARE GREAT PLINKING TARGETS WHEN INSTALLED IN THE BULLET TRAP I DESIGNED. THANKS TO RFC FOR MAKING THEM AVAILABLE.
The little plastic army men. Set up two sides and at 50 yds you have a good little contest. The small ones are much harder of course.
Little green army men, I thought I was the only one who did that!:t
