Resurrecting an old thread from a search for my specific question...


I'm mounting a Simmons .22mag 3-9x32 AO on my 981t. I put some Weaver #12 bases on, and bought Millet high angle loc windage adjustable rings. I started to mount it last night, but the rings look pretty high. I'm thinking I can get away with the mediums.

Does anyone else use this setup with the medium height rings? Does it work? Thanks!

depending on ring manufacturer, you MIGHT be able to get away with low rings for a 32mm objective...

i think somewhere on midway usa there is a chart for ring applications. dont remember where.

for 40mm AO objectives, high seems to always be the ticket. i do have a 40mm non-ao objective sitting in medium rings, but its a 30mm tube.

Anyone else use the medium rings? does the bolt still clear the scope?

Quick update for anyone's future reference:

Marlin 981t with Weaver #12 bases front and back and Millet angle loc windage adjustable Weaver style rings in MEDIUM height is a great combo if you have a 32mm AO objective. It gives just enough room to easily use the scope cover.
