A friend at the range bought one and let my wife and me use it.
In my opinion its "cute" and thats about it.
Its too small for my hands (which are thin).
I didnt like the trigger.
Even with the "target barrel" the accuracy was less than good.
The first time my wife saw one, she wanted it. After she fired one, she said she was glad she didnt buy it.
Shooting cans at 20 yards or less is pushing it to the limit.
Just my opinion.

I shot mine yesterday with both barrels and I dont see much difference in accuracy at 25 yards between either set up. It isnt too good with either one but I was shooting offhand so it Ill reserve judgement until I get more rounds through the thing.

Overall I like the guns ergonomics, it feels OK, points nice, didnt jam, but there is something not quite right about it somehow. It might be the fact that it looks like a scaled down centerfire pistol. For some reason I get the feeling that it is cheaply made but its performance hasnt backed that up. Yet.

If I could have only 1 rimfire pistol it would be a 22/45 as there isnt a better value out there that I have found, but the P22 is a neat gun and probably worth the asking price.

I am interested in the P-22 as well.  I posted on here and two other forums about it nearly two months ago and got various responses.  Many owners complained of heavy trigger pulls and filthy magazines that failed to function properly.  A few owners loved them, I met a man who bought three of them.  When I first saw them the price was $219.00.  I saw one yesterday for $299.00 and have heard of them going for nearly $400.00.

I have been told the accuracy is fair to good, and one guy said it was bad.  I have yet to fire one myself.  I had a friend locate and buy  one for the $219.00 price and I ordered three, should have them in a week to ten days.  If anyone makes a holster dedicated to the Walther P-22 it is the best kept secret in America.

Ive got one, had it for a couple of months now. One magazine works great, use of the other guarantees a jam at least the fist three rounds.

Trigger? The double action SUCKS! There is no way to get a good shot with it. The single action, however, isnt bad.

Accuracy isnt bad. Mine is the short barreled version, but I cant complain with the accuracy. A pine cone will bite the dust at 15 yards everytime, shooting offhand.

IMHO, I have to agree with Citori. I own a 22/45 and you cant beat it for the price. If I had to give up one of the two, it would be the P22.

Maybe you all are expecting too much from 3.4" of barrel... Try cleaning the mags before you use them and then take some good lube to the mags. This is a scaled down defensive weapon not card splittin 8" MK2. Shoot the gun for brick worth and see how that will help functioning. When you take in to account that the 5.0" Barrel is just really 4.038 or a tad more taking away the chamber you can see why this is not a Tack Driver. I like the Little Gun and it is also a favorite of my wife who has trouble with some of the heavier recoil springs of larger weapons. Just my 3Rds.

John Mc_Caw, what do you use for a holster for the P-22?  I cannot find anything to fit it, and I will need three.
Belt and shoulder holsters are needed.

I had a Walther employee try to talk me out of the P-22.
I accept the gun for what it is meant to be but it should do better than 4" or 5" groups.  I have seen a man hit a paper plate at 100 yards with a Beretta 950 .22 auto pistol (magazine after magazine)  and with a 70s.  He is somewhat of a better shooter than I am.

How much is the suppressor conversion?

:DRe: Walther P22 opinion's

I have the 5" barrel model. No it can not compete with the Ruger MKII for accuracy but I love it. As a plinker it will be fine after broken in. At 12 yards my first several 10 shot groups were all over the target, 11 inch spread. However as I continued to shoot it started to make smaller groups. The last group (#15) was just over 3 inches. Out of the 150 rounds fired I had 4 falures to fire. All 4 rounds fired on second strike, I was using CCI Standard. I need to put several bricks through it and find what it likes best. Everything considered: Ill keep it.

I am also looking for a holster.

John_McCaw: Do you have spare magazines for sale?

Re: Holsters&Mags For The P22

For Holsters try Advanced Armament Corp in Duluth, GA or www.advancedarmament.com.. Yeah I have and can get Mags for the P22 $18.00 Std Blue and $19.00 for Fingerest Blue.

There are alot of the generic nylon holsters that will work and some Uncle Mikes and the likes if you can take your gun with you and try them out. Galanti the makers of the nylon gun cases comes to mind also. Run a Google search wwww.google.com for nylon holsters and youll be suprised what how many there are out there that will work..

Cheif, that P22 looks sweet! What is that accessory on the end ;D?  Mine came with a healthy dose of thicker "grease" on the slide and magazines.  After cleaning up I was surprized that it will manually feed(but not cycle) the colibri powderless quiet ammo.

Besides the price, one advantage of the P-22 that is consistantly being overlooked is:
The P-22 is supposed to be dimensionally the same as the P-99 (available in 9mm or .40 S&W).  The P-99 is one cool pistola.
If you own a P-99 for self defense, and/or shoot it in the stock classes of IDPA or IPSC, then with a P-22 you have an ergonomically identical practise alternative in a much more economical caliber!  What a great way to practise your speed draw, first (double action) shot etc..
(I was about to get one to match my  P-99 when the funds got hijacked for other "projects" when I discovered this bloomin website!)

Chief glad you like the pistola, no sweat on the No Bark how did the adaptor work out for you. Yeak the grease that is on the Mags Neesd to be cleaned off before use but that shoulda been a given as with most Imports.

Mags are NOT Hard to find just about anyone who carries Walther or S&W can get them and the price is right.

Now if I gould just find 50 more I would be set as everyone that holds and shoots this little gun wants one. I have 4 left but 2 are promised to customers with Outback Surpressors.

I have had my new P22 3.5inch style for about two weeks.I have shot several hundred rounds of different types of ammo.It has not jammed on me yet.It does not shot 25 cent size groups at 30 yards like some of my Mk II rugers but it has alot less barrel and is just made different.Overall I like it alot and think it is a real neat little gun.It will hit a coke can at around 20-25 yards every pull of the trigger off hand for me.Thats good enough for the type of shooting I will be doing with the pistol.I think I will buy another one with colored frame hear real soon.

I did a bit of plinking today

I just finished a session with a newly acquired 3.4" bbl and a red dot. The range distance to the target (soda can) was 35m.

The sighting-in was done from a rest. The remaining practice was offhand.

Up until now I had never shot the P22 further than 25m. The additional 10m made hitting the target tough.

I applied the six o'clock technique, turning the elevation screw clockwise. Aiming at the foot of the target (or about an inch below the can's base), rather than spot on, made things easier.

Next time I might try placing a target at forty meters.

I wonder how challenging that would be.
