Volquartsen cantilever mount

I just received a Volquartsen cantilever mount that I ordered in silver but it arrived painted an ugly gray. I was putting this with a brushed aluminum receiver, stainless barrel, silver rings and scope. I guess I expected a nicer look. I wonder if it is painted because it doesn't look good bare or if that is just the cheapest way for them to finish it. Does anyone know if this would look better stripped and brushed?
