Since the .17s have jacketed bullets, I would bet money the bullet wont touch the lands until you pull the trigger. Although seating jacketed bullets to touch the lands is sometimes done by handloaders to squeeze the last increment of accuracy out of a gun/load, I can't imagine a manufacturer deliberately selling a barrel so chambered for factory ammo.
