My local pawn shop has one for $285. Right hand grips, 6 7/8 in bull barrel, adjustable sights, smooth slide, one mag, little wear. Pretty nice. Is this worth the price? I am taking a risk not being able to shoot the gun before buying and I have no clue how to break it down for inspection. Should I just wait and keep looking?

Hmmm...not sure. I got my Mk II Target through my local range, for $261.00 brand new ("member's discount"). It's not in stainless, but it does have the 10" barrel.

I just bought a new MkII Gov't Target model (stainless, bull, slab-sided barrel) for $380 locally, which is as good as I saw anywhere on the web. If that is the model you are looking at, $285 seems fair if it is in very good condition.

I got a good deal on a new 678GC for less than $350 incl tax in '00. They come stock SS with rings and mount, slab bull barrel, and walnut thumbrest grips. If I didn't have a VERY knowledgable friend to check it out, I'd buy new.
