How many of you have actually shot a turkey with the 17hmr? I saw two shot this year at around a hundred yards and both had to be dispatched with a .223 Lots of feathers flew but did not put the birds down. One was shot face on and the other walking straight away. It was if the feathers acted as armor. Any opinions? Thanks, ET

I would definitely make them head instead of body shots. I'm planning on that with my Rapid 12 pellet gun someday. It will knock em dead on the spot. A turkey is a big tough animal. My 2 cents.
