i asked someone this too, and they said "a pound of butter weighs a pound" Basically, get a coathanger and bend it so it touches trigger and misses the rest of the rifle. (that would be the easiest way, but i borrowed a spring scale from my physics teacher ;))

I used an eletric fish scale. Pull back SLOWLY and average 4 or 5 and you should be pretty close.

Another way to do it is to get string or fishing line and tie one end to the trigger and the other end to a sandwhich bag. Slowly fill it with dimes. Each dime weighs (x amount, I can figure it out later if someone needs). Figure out how many dimes it took you and add it up!

but I don't have any dimes :( I spent all my money on my 10/22 addiction :D
