WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

Does anyone remember the game star shot it was on espn many moons ago. Was kind of like vertical trap. Was a team event kind of like the pro am. One celebrity and one professional
I remember watching the show, looked like a lot of fun to shoot vertically to break the clay in a zone and some of the celebrity shooters were pretty good.

I was trying to find the episode with one of the mandrell sisters but no luck.
Hey Cow do you need a 600mm DII afs nikon lens? if so there is one on Boise craigslist for$3200
Weather the rest of the week in the 90’s and on Monday 100° say the WW’s. Nice breeze this evening and Tuesday is a permitted day for outside watering so mowed-did the lawns tonight. Was also dinner time for the hummingbirds so got a nice close up view of one female chowing down whilst in the mids of backyard yard work. Range once again tomorrow and will meet up and provide solicited long range shooting tips and guidance for bud interested in stepping into this arena. 😀

Makes me want to throw up.

We had roots break thru and block the sewage pipe. Flooded the entire (finished) basement with not just our own, but a neighbors sewage.

That was the "straw" that broke the camel's back. Repair out in the woods wasn't too bad but cleanup was, well, I can't even begin.

See there Cow if you had that 600 we would be able to see his nose hairs!
And M92 how the heck did you get all the pipes and wires untangled from that gobbildygook.

Pipes pulled stright through, wire kept getting stuck but came out eventually. All of that was stuck to and hanging by the pump. I laid the pump down and pulled the roots out with a clove hitch twice then figured that a choker hitch would work better.

The customer didn't speak good English but I finally got the point across to not be standing in that mess incase it fell, so it wouldn't drag him with it, its a 15" well.
I LOVE being a Grandpa! My young girl was crowned "Little Miss" at the county fair queen contest. It happened to be on her birthday as well.
She will never forget that day, nor me as well. I was just praying she would get into the runner-ups at least.

They started calling 3rd place, 2nd place and then I kind of lost hope, due to the number of girls entered. Then they said the winner is....My Grandaughter!

You definitely got to the root of the problem alright M92.

Dad had me helping rod his own sewer after it backed up, and him a plumber. He would not use root killer even after we dug out the line to the city and put in new pipe that got got infiltrated with roots again. When he was in the hospital with blood clots I poisoned the sewer killing the roots and gave a big maple tree a case of feeling punky eventually killing it. I never did tell him. Rodding the sewer as a yute was what convinced me I'd never be the 3rd gen plumber in the family.
ETA I did keep the snake I learned on, inherited, and rodded this place soon after we got the place... cleaner than a whistle w/o a pea.

I use 2 lbs. of copper sulfate crystals occasionally as a preventative maintenance strategy.

Got home from the doctors appointment, changed clothes and went to mowing. Got all of my place cut amidst a choking cloud of dust. Ran the weed eater until dark, then took time to sharpen a pair of blades before petering out for the day. Wore to the proverbial frazzle I am. Mr. Lee got the soybeans planted finally. Between the tractor tracks, the fire ant mounds and the armadillos digging up all over the place my back is killing me. Boneshaker lawn mower.

Have to get up early again tomorrow, this time to ferry Belinda to the retina specialist for a checkup before going to dialysis. If I don't get started on Mother's grass it'll be Wednesday.

It hasn't rained much lately and things are starting to wilt. Less mowing is good but we certainly don't need a drought.

Having one of those if it is meant to be moments. Keep checking for concert tickets but pushing the buy button is tough.
