WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

And in other news :)

Now that was funny. Reminds me of one of the true sayings in the military. The most dangerous thing in the service is a 2ndLt with a map.

Cleaned up almost three sections of trail this morning. One section I’ve ridden once and thought death was eminent. I didn’t even like walking it with snow falling as there’s a 300’ near vertical drop off to the side of the foot wide trail. Other sections of that trail are steep climbs and steep downhills strewn with sharp pointy rocks.
With those two sections cleared went onto the next looking for what blocked my son. Sawed up the first downed tree and pulled the brush off to side then continued on. Found what I believe was sons blockade which will require help clearing as it’s too large for this old guy. Cut some on it but with top pushing against a hill and trunk snapped off eight foot off ground it felt like it was going to roll over on me. Pinched bar and thrown chain, done till tomorrow with help and pulling equipment.
Even signed my name with the saw!

Nice to have trails within the city limits for a quick spin.

Happy Anniversary to you and the Missus Wayne!!

And one found over the southern border! 🙄
I liked the article below about weeding out extremism in the military by banning the Marine Corps. LOL! 😂

Pleasant radiology/ultrasound tech whinny'd like a small young pony when I made her laugh during my most uncomfortable 70min flat on my back who told me I should write a book.
Shloppy sleet n snow to n fro @ 35ºF.

I'm sorry you're having to go through that Al but I like your positive mental attitude!

...and no worries on the weather, a couple more weeks of faux spring and then it'll be safe for momma to plant her less hardy stuff. We're supposed to be 78 tomorrow but it'll snow again, guaranteed!

Boring day at work. Normally the first day after a 3 day shutdown is pretty hectic. No so today. We will see how the second Monday tomorrow goes.

I brought in my allsky camera as it is going to be solid overcast for a day, I first deployed it last fall when it was cold, now I am seeing I have a cooling issue with the camera and computer in case. Ordered some 30mm fans, I'll print a new case with tubes pointing down to keep the rain out but let me mount a fan for cross flow ventilation. Will add environmental sensors also.

Enjoyed the pictures M92. Easter and kids goes together.

Good morning all!

I just ran across something regarding membership fees. If you are signed up for your membership to be automatically renewed and paid more than the current $20 fee, you will be billed the old higher rate automatically unless you cancel your subscription. Your membership will continue until the expiration date and resigning up will be at the current price. I know that I paid $40 in December for the “Bronze” level. Gold and Silver were much higher. I would hate to think of someone continuing to pay $100 or more for a level that no longer exists. From what I understand, it’s a flat $20 fee for membership. Anyway, I just wanted to give a heads up in case there are any signed up to auto renew their memb

Brent
Thanks for that Brent. I canceled two subscriptions that I had to search a bit to find in paypal. I always have to use the help system to find it.

Al doesn’t have attitude, though he is one of the best perfectly good bad examples I have had the pleasure to encounter.

Congratulations Wayne and Mrs. Wayne. Happy Anniversary!
Howdy all!

Happy anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne!!!

It was a steady workday today and upon getting home I managed, with the help of my niece, got all the loam shoveled into all the garden beds. Also spread a whole bunch of fertilizer/compost.
I am glad we got all that done before the rains get here. It is supposed to be a heavy rain with strong winds. A classic nor-easter.

Now just need to add a different fertilizer, till, and cover with the weed barrier so that the soil heats up for planting right around Memorial day!

I have lots of leftovers for supper tonight so am staying home and chilling out for the rest of the night.

I like the new color Wook! I don't know what "The Dark Side" is all about.

OK, just tried it on for size. I can see your post just fine in that mode too!(y)

The Sandlot.

..... still gets me that some think its okay to limit other folks expressions, words best served in person come to mind. There's a lot said and done here that I've no use for but I believe others have a right to their own thoughts and actions.
Hi Gerald.

I have no idea what's got you riled, but I hope that you stick around . You are a pillar in this community!

Whistling bottle rockets are verboten but two 2x4s smacked together with vigor are loud enough to hurt my ears and silence the raucous horde of starlings and blackbirds building nests in the surrounding pines, albeit temporarily the filthy animals.
