Twas bored sitting in my ground blind in the middle of nowhere late season with no one else in the woods so I tried my luck blowing a tortured dying rabbit that sounds an awful like a baby crying if you do it right. Couple minutes into it I felt a whoosh of air and heard a slight scratch sound. Looked up and there's an owl sitting on a limb over my head. Ripped the bunny hat off and stood to scare it away. Its a jungle out there.

Al, you got lucky on that one. Several years ago, Lovely Bride and I were deer hunting and took a foot patrol along a little draw that was lined with cottonwood trees. As she walked under one tree, a big ol' owl perched up in the limbs took a huge dump right on her, stuff got in her hair and all down the shoulder and front of her coat!! 😝 She was none too pleased with the situation but later we laughed about it and still do sometimes. I probably laugh a little harder than she does. 😁

Sounds like she should get the being one with nature award.

34° with 5-10mph breeze today. Used the flopping target as a wind flag as there’s little remaining to staple to. The Howa pulled off another 2500 with a switch from Eley Team to Eley Edge as I finished out the last box. The Howa 1100 says just feed me any old Eley and I’ll shoot well for you. She doesn’t like Lapua😎

Must be fun to take your Tacticool slug shootin 12ga to the range and blastinate everything! Must be tough shooting up property from the five yard line.

Nice having a range just six miles away but I will not be a paying member again. Just can’t have nice stuff with the current shooting population.

Let me tell you how many times I've been within a single digit of hitting 60.000 REAL posts, I no longer care...in fact I wish they'd do away with them as some are fixated on them. My rant for this year, continue on...POR as they say. And get over it already... 😁
Must resist, resist I must, from pushing Gerald's button Al. 😂😇

Just finished a bag of salad that was supposed to be good until 12/5. It was brown last night when I opened it. I put the rest on a plate and poured some turkey chilli on it and finished it. That really irritated me.

Really busy the first half of the day at work. Key line went down and people kept wanting me to stop and fix their problem. Three other techs, four engineers, figure it out and leave me alone. Stay off my lawn also. ;)

Turning in early as last night I was having a hard time going to sleep after four days off.

I'm still hungry.

LRS was a party of three with great environmental condition, with one person being a successful Hi Power shooter so definitely a plethora of real time information. The other had just purchased a really nice rear shooting bag but it was sans any fill. It was his good fortune that I had my collection of standard bag fill that was changed out for “git lite” and it was stored at the pistol club range, so we stopped there afterwards and now he has fill material for his rear shooting bag. Have opted to use the .223 Wylde at future PRS events so addressing spin drift out to 1000 yards was my task for today. The three of us will do it again this Wednesday and so that’s the plan.

Was going to stop by the pistol club range anyway and trim the tree branches some of which were rubbing on the bay canopy facia boards. Got them all trimmed via cordless chain saw on a stick and informed our range Operation Manager that he could now send range staff to collect and dispose of the trimmed trimmings.

No, it is range within the city limits. They shut it down for a year do to the yahoos shooting over the berms and shooting a parked car a half mile away. They reopened after making it so I rifle couldn’t be aimed at the sky and put up a gate that remains unlocked. Police are supposed to patrol it as they use the range as well but have only seen them once. We paid membership when reopened this year but with the current situation returning I’ll go elsewhere.

I got some done, foibles or naught. Got the entire east side of the barn roof coated, took a bucket and a half of the fibered aluminum roof coating. At that coverage rate I'll need to get one more to have enough to do the shop roof too. I am worn out now, using muscles that aren't usually in use hurts, including the right shoulder again. Doesn't matter, has to be done regardless. I bought the leaf blower attachment that goes with the Stihl Kombimotor system that I have; it has MUCH more blower force than the electric powered blower that I busted. After I got off of the roof I blew some leaves in the moonlight for a few minutes. Nice piece of gear. This week I didn't fail to get the garbage out like I did last week. Had to burn the garbage and scatter a bucket full of used kitty litter out in the field.

Talked to Belinda; every time they stop the intravenous drip of calcium, the blood level drops well below normal and she starts having nerve symptoms. Since it is about to go into the third week the doc is going to confer with the insurance company on whether they will continue to pay to keep her there OR send her home with an IV drip of calcium going and have home health and the dialysis clinic monitor the blood level. My bet would be they send her home. I know she wants out of there badly I just hope it isn't a mistake.

Reloaded 100, 69 grain HPBT 5.56 mm this afternoon. Signed up for the next quasi local PRS match scheduled on December 18th, and plan will be to shoot the bolt action .223 Wylde, and not the bolt action 6.5 CM. It’ll be eight stages, possibly eighty rounds, and a two plus mile hike with your gear. Distances to the targets at this event local range from 200 to 900 yards so very doable for a .223 cartridge. My first ever PRS event was shot with a .223/5.56 gasser and one of these future times might again use that particular rifle just because. In view of a long range match coming up gonna forego the next batch of local pistol matches prior to that PRS event.

Couldn't wear the suit when I was doing the ridge and a foot or so at the top, too slick to stay up there. Got that part coated, washed my arms off with mineral spirits and soap then swapped to the suit, it kept all the roller mess away. That new long long paint handle really worked on my arms and back, but it was exactly what I needed to reach. Lowe's didn't have any, the Sherwin Williams store did though. I would have sworn that there were several long extensions still left over at the garage at Mom's. Either they were sold, given away or stolen. I don't know. I have three lengths now anyways, two that will be good inside and one longer. After I get done with the outside stuff, the next project is to paint the south bedroom and move into it from the north one. THEN when I get to it, and that may be spring time since I don't want to tear into the house in the winter, the rotted floor of the north bedroom and the sag into the connecting rooms. Powder post beetles ate up the floor joists and it is a mess. Same kind of work that I've done many time before on other people's homes. Big disruption. Especially with me pathetically slow now.

Newer, younger neighbor guy across the street returned today from a long Thanksgiving weekend at his parents in Northern Michigan. He gave me a pint of home processed maple syrup from his parents place. Thought that was very kind of him.
